WICKED #6 St. Patrick's Day Super Show was the best event to date for Pure Amusement, with a record breaking 7,800 people at the amusement park on the day of event. DVD Sales are already through the roof on the PAW website, and the event has been abuzz on Twitter since yesterday. Here is the fallout from that event.
1) The Finals of the PAW Championship tournament proved to be nothing short of epic, with Stevie Harris and Press putting on the performance of a lifetime. In the end, however, Press was the man to score the pinfall, and is our new PAW Heavyweight Champion. The new champion won't have much time for celebration, as he already has a #1 Contender in CJ O'Donnell, which he is set to address on 'The Box Office', hosted by Cross Recoba, at WICKED#7.
2) Stevie Harris mixture of blood and phlegm might have said it all after the Main Event when he spit on the announcement of Press as the new PAW Champion. Despite his devastating loss, his number of supporters has seemed to increased, with 'I'm With Stevie' cultists actively picketing outside of the Xayarena, demanding that their messiah be granted a rematch. His scornful grin as he exited the arena on St. Patrick's Day foretells that this is not over between he and PAW's resident big man. Quite the contrary, it's just the beginning.
3) One of the biggest surprises of the night was the emergence of GZW's John Champa from the crowd at ringside. The former GZW Heavyweight Champion had man disparaging remarks about the PAW faithful, especially concerning the owner of Pure Amusement, Lady Munin, who recently on GZW left the company with both of her belts. He didn't get to talk for long before being interrupted by GZW's resident Mongrel, William Saint, who disagreed with Champa's assessment of PAW, and even compared PAW to what GZW used to be. The debate ended, with Champa laying Mongrel out before wiping his ass with Saint's PAW T-shirt. Was this just a one time appearance from the GZW roster, or is there going to be more to altercations to come?
4) The Titans of the Midway Championship match was an awesome affair, with plenty of twists and turns throughout the contest. In an epic finish, Johnny Raike proved to be the Titan of the night, claiming both the victory and the Championship. There are rumors circulating that the Most Liberated Man In Wrestling is looking to use this victory to elevate him into the PAW Heavyweight Championship picture, despite there already being a #1 Contender. But first, he has some unfinished business with Alex Cross, who he formed brief alliances with throughout the match, but eventually turned on him both times. It should be interesting heading into WICKED#7.
5) Speaking of Alex Cross, what's up with this guy? Is he heel? Is he face? His actions as of late have been sporadic, as he took on the predominant face position in his match against Stevie Harris, and even high fived fans during his entrance in the Titans of the Midway match. At the same time, it was he who turned on Johnny Raike during their brief alliances in that match, and there are rumors that he's been seen at different bars around town drunk out of his mind. Wasn't he in recovery? What does this mean for his relationship with Munin, or better yet, with the company. The fans were left a little confused whether they wanted to boo or cheer him, and their confusion might get even worse as time marches forwards into his match with Johnny Raike at WICKED#7.
6) Calvin Harris, for the second show in a row, got robbed of his opportunities due to unforeseen circumstances. The first of these was Tyler Keenan losing his shit at WICKED#5, and the second when Johnny Raike and Alex Cross decided to team-up on him during the Titans of the Midway match. Now, going into WICKED#7, perhaps the tables will finally turn for the self-proclaimed 'Martyr of Wrestling' as he is set to take on CJ O'Donnell in a solely one on one matchup with no other outside variables.
7) CJ O'Donnell came to the ring with a purpose, and that was to name himself the #1 Contender to Press' PAW Heavyweight Championship. Apparently, this purpose included not only some excellent wrestling, but some wicked intent, as he used Trixie's sexual nature against her by first kissing her, and then stealing the victory out from under her while she was still reeling from the move. Either way, he achieved his goal, and is now the first in line to challenge the new champion. That is, if Trixie doesn't hunt him down and remove his testicles.
8) Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and that's exactly what Trixie's roar at the end of her match conveyed. The woman was fit to be tied upon reaching the backstage area, where she spat venom at anyone foolish enough to get in her way. What will be her rebuttal to the devious actions of CJ O'Donnell.
9) Luke Knux was the man on top of the world after winning the Last Man Standing Food Fight against 'Hungry' Jack Swanson. This came as much of a surprise to Jack as it did to the rest of the PAW Universe, who were pretty sure that he would come out victorious due to the nature of the match. PAW's resident Rock Star had different plans, however, winning the match with a Ragnarock N' Roll after nailing Jack in the face with a jar of diced onions. It was one of the highlights of the night, full of blood, guts, and....sausage? You'll just have to watched the DVD to figure it all out.
10) Finally, Flaming Youth's unsettling collapse in the ring was determined to be caused by a severe concussion due to a shot he took way back on WICKED#5 by CJ O'Donnell. The Celtic Warrior's Irish Knowledge Running Knee is a devastating maneuver, especially if struck right in the temple, as playback seems to indicate in Youth's case. The New Orleans Sport Commission is reviewing the footage, and may call a ruling that would 'outlaw' the maneuver in the state of Louisiana. For right now, Youth is set to be out of action until at least WICKED#8.
