Welcome to Pure Amusement Wrestling
What is it?
Pure Amusement Wrestling is a wrestling promotion owned by WICKED ENTERTAINMENT running out of an amusement park located in Purity, Louisiana, you may find it on a map like this one. This Amusement Park is a little like Disney World or Six Flags, only a little smaller in scale, but it's on the grow.
There's roller coasters, concession stands and eateries, mascots and people in ridiculous costumes, tunnels of love, and everything you can imagine and hope for. A place where adults of all ages, 18-99, can go to have a ton of fun and spend a ton of money.
The top draw, the thing that sets this particular amusement park apart from the others, and the thing you're likely here inquiring about, is it's in-house Wrestling Promotion: PURE AMUSEMENT WRESTLING.
There's two events a month, one inside the park, and one in which the promotion travels elsewhere to spread the entertainment love.
Of course, don't let the pitch fool you. This park isn't all fun and games. There's a seedy side. Beneath the surface of the balloons and cotton candy, things are rotten.
And it makes a world ripe for all sorts of characters to come and ply their wrestling trade.
Who are you, in Pure Amusement Wrestling? The Sick Clown? The Billionaire wanting to invest? Or the wrestler here to dominate and draw crowds? There's something here for everyone.
What That Means For You
Pure Amusement Wrestling is an E-Fed, or E-wrestling Federation.
If you don't know what that is, you might be too big, or too small for this ride, sadly.
We're an E-fed. An online role-playing game in which you're going to create a wrestling character(s) for whom you will then write believable role-plays in order to put yourself, your opponent, and the federation itself over to everyone who happens along to read it.
We are owned and operated by grown-ups who have purposely designed this fed for grown-ups to play in.
This game should be fun.
No one likes whiners, sore losers, or people who can't compromise and work together for the greater good of the story, the match, or the fed. No trolls. Maturity only, please. As a standard bearing rule, we'll never tell you how to write your character, or tell you who to feud with, or write your character for you without your consent. As far as we're concerned, by signing on that dotted line, this world we've created is your oyster.
One thing?
Be respectful. No Sexism, Bigotry, Racism, or intolerance of any kind, please.
Don't be a dick.
You're responsible for your actions on these boards, so be prepared to justify any questionable remarks you make.
That's what this is, and what you're potentially signing up for: An E-fed Story World experience.
Make a character who lives and breathes somehow in this world. Make us believe in him or her. Have fun. Interact. Wrestle.

Just one more thing:
Rules
Every game needs rules.
Here's ours:
Rule #0: Have Fun.
Rule #1: The Real World comes first. Sick? Lost Internet? Family Problems? Take care of that first. Leave us a message when you can so we don't worry and take care of you, and that stuff keeping you from smiling.
Rule #2: Respect your fellow handlers and Staff. It's a two-way street. Again, don't be a dick.
Rule #3: Put the fed over.
Rule #4: Be Mature. If you don't like a particular match decision, or a call, or a handler rubs you the wrong way, whatever it is: Talk it out. Don't let it fester. And, please, be a grown-up about it.
Rule #5: Original Wrestlers Only.
Rule #6: Go ahead and make Stables and Tag Teams.
Rule #7: Outcomes for Matches will be determined by Role-play merit, and skill. Angles affect outcomes only when mutually agreed upon by the participants in a match and the staff. Scroll down for an understanding of how role-plays will be judged.
Rule #8: Keep In-Character (IC) in character, and Out-Of-Character (OOC) out of character.
Rule #9: Do Not Use other characters in your role-plays without that handler's consent. Period.
As far as on show segments, you do not have to notify the handler for a back stage attack or ring interference, but there are conditions. That character doesn't need to have speaking parts, as you can't put words in their mouth, and you need to keep it realistic. Don't do anything to anyone's character that you wouldn't want done to your character. Also, no mutilations, including burns, tattoo's, etc. Staff reserves the right to refuse any segment that they deem inappropriate. Segments that require a confrontation, or speaking, or even something you just think would be funny or cool with another character still require that characters permission.
Rule #10: Proofread your role-plays. Get your friend to do it, your dog, or even your spell check and grammar tutor or whatever. Please? Reading run on paragraphs, or poorly punctuated sentences makes it difficult to like your work. Remember: Periods end sentences; Commas give pause; Colons present information; Semi-colons create lists like the one I've made here. This list, of course, is not comprehensive.
Rule #11: Matches will have a one (1) role-play limit unless otherwise stated.
Rule #11 B: Deadlines. Pure Amusement Wrestling runs two (4) events per month on a two (2) week cycle for role playing. That should be more than enough time to post one (1) Roleplay.
Rule #11 C: Tag Team Matches. In the event of a tag team match, the RP limit will be set as follows. An individual handling both members of a tag team will be allowed to Roleplay twice (2) in the event that he is facing a tag team made up of two individual handlers. In that event, they will only be allowed to RP one (1) a piece. If the situation arises where both tag teams are handled by individual handlers, then there will only be one (1) RP per team.
Rule #12: No Recycled Roleplays unless in the event of Character Development. If you do decide to use this rule for CD, please clean up your roleplay to include only the information that is relevant to your character's history. No one really cares about reading previous promo's used for another fed against people that aren't relative to PAW. If you fed in more than one place, feel free to post that current Promo on the CD boards, but if it has no mention of PAW or relevancy to 'OUR' upcoming shows, it won't be considered as extra content towards any scores.
Rule #13: No advertising. If you wish to affiliate, please contact staff.
Rule #14: No Sexism. No Racism. No Discrimination. Already stated, but felt a rule might be necessary.
Rule #15: The Anti-Bitch Rule. This was mentioned above in maturity, but I'll expand on this in specifics. If you don't like a decision, and 100% believe that you won a match, that's fine, but that isn't going to change the outcome that the judges decided on. Bottom Line, they didn't agree. If you see something on the card that you didn't like, feel free to discuss it with a member of staff to find out why it happened, but do not blow up publicly. Reach out to staff, and voice your displeasure privately. Violation of this rule will result in three things;
1) Banning you from the boards.
2) Blocking you from social media outlets.
3) A fed wide announcement of your bitchery.
Staff's only goal is to try and mitigate the chaos, and provide booking opportunities to create story lines. The Judging Department's goal is to provide a fair 'total' assessment of a persons Roleplay, and provide a winner based on that standard. No one likes to lose or see their character get their ass handed to them in a backstage attack, but it's apart of the game you signed up for. YOU are only as WEAK as YOUR response. If the best you can do is bitch about it and rage quit, you've not only shown your character's weakness, but yours as a person.
One last Thing.
Rule #16: PAW was set up from the beginning to be a place where everyone was welcome. Even those from other feds. With the unique dynamic of being both a wrestling promotion and an amusement park, it allows for visitors from other organizations to show up at the park and interact with our roster. Just keep in mind if you decide to do a CD, a promo, or a confrontation style segment with someone from the outside unless;
#1) You have their permission.
#2) You ensure that when you write it, it's taking place in the same town as the event. Or at least that there is a way for explaining the circumstances of the meeting.
#3) That you are willing to return the favor at some point.
Roleplay Judging and Rubric
Role-playing isn't an exact science. We can't promise we'll judge every match objectively, that's impossible. We will judge fairly. Write your style, and play the game to the best of your ability.
That said, here's our judging criteria:
Method of Attack: (10 Points) Make us believe your character is a wrestler, first and foremost. We booked you on the show, sell your character's place on that show. It's as simple as driving to the event, and as complex as worrying about how your hair's going to look during the fight against whoever. This is a wrestling federation. Anything goes, just realize you've signed on with a WRESTLER who is here to compete. Their methods and motivations are your own to flesh out.
Character Development: (10 Points) We want to see your character develop. Let them grow, adapt to a win, a loss, or some new circumstance that alters their thinking or life-situation. Stay relevant within the wrestling motif, and the amusement park setting and you're good. Do not be afraid to show weakness or doubt in your character. Humanizes your character. Make us care. Make someone living and breathing.
Originality: (10 Points) Try new things. Be Different. Stand out in your own way. This is a chance to be creative. We've made the story-world. The only limit on how you interact within it is your own imagination and adherence to that story-world!
Content: (10 Points) Read the events. Read the role-plays. Sell the fed. Sell your character and where they're at in the fed. Be aware of what is going on around you in P.A.W. This helps us book. this helps you get involved, this helps put the fed over if we're all on the same page. This also includes grammar/punctuation.
Believability: (10 Points) How believable was your roleplay? Believability doesn't always mean subject matter that is of this world. It's more about how you convey your message, and if it is an off the wall subject, your ability to suspend belief. This will ultimately boil down to your ability to convey what's going on in your RP in a way that leaves no question of how and why this happened.
Entertainment Value: (10 Points) How entertaining was your roleplay? Out of all of the rubric, this one is most left up to opinion and the individual judge. It's that fuzzy, cool, sad, angry, and sometimes disturbing feeling you get after reading a particular RP. It's a combination of the previous five that were mentioned, mingled with an overall decision of how well it was received.
Total Score: (60 Points) Each section has a possible score of 10 out of 10. Once judging is complete, the scores from each section are added up to make up the total score out of a possible 60 points. The person with the highest score wins the contest. All matches will be assigned to two judges, and if those judgments are unanimous, then there's a clear winner. If not, then a third judge will be assigned to serve as a tie breaker.
Feedback: Each judge will provide feedback for their decisions. This feedback can be requested by the handler through DM on Twitter or Personal Message through the boards. Feedback is used to help put the score achieved for that particular cycle in perspective, and can provide a reason for a win or a loss. What you need to keep doing, and what you need to change. The ultimate goal is to hopefully help us all to become better writers.
Edits To Posts: Once your roleplay is posted, we use the gentleman's agreement. You may edit the piece as long as it is within the deadline, but refrain from adding any new material to the post. This is an option given only to ensure the flow and integrity of your work by correcting spelling and grammar mistakes. If you so choose, you may also do your graphics work after posting as well, as long as it is within the deadline. Any edits that take place after the deadline will be considered inadmissible, and may even result in your Roleplay being treated as late.
