WICKED#9 came to us live from the El Paso County Colosseum in El Paso, Texas. This was the promotions first venture outside of the state of Louisiana, and could only be described as a success, as a capacity crowd awaited the Superstars of PAW that were on hand for the event. With this level of success, it may provide an opportunity for PAW to branch out even further in the future. Here is the fall out from that event.
1) The Titans of the Midway Championship changed hands on WICKED#9, as Calvin Harris brought down the title from the top of the ladder despite Johnny Raike's objections. The two Titans, hands down, stole the show Thursday evening, leaving Twitter and the El Paso crowd abuzz after the event. With Calvin Harris now firmly in the drivers seat, he remarked to the crowd, 'I told you so', before continuing his celebration at being the new champion. Johnny Raike still received the fanfare as he left the arena, though being a few pounds lighter was clear in his demeanor as he made his departure.
2) Speaking of Calvin Harris, ever since beating CJ O'Donnell back on WICKED#7 'The Martyr of Wrestling' has been on a crusade against PAW Management to name him the new #1 Contender. After beating Johnny Raike, who also holds a victory over O'Donnell, one has to wonder if his point isn't proven. Thus far, however, Management refuses to give into the demands of the talented Superstar, not allowing him to dictate the terms nor hold them hostage.
3) Another chapter in the #I'mWithStevie Movement and The BombTrax was laid to rest at WICKED#9, as once again, Press was victorious over the madman. Though he technically pinned Lola after a Press Release Powerbomb, it didn't change the fact that Stevie has made three attempts, all with subterfuge, to thwart the PAW Champion, and failed. Now, it appears that neither Stevie or Lola are scheduled for WICKED#10, which raises the question, what's next for The Movement.
4) Many speculate that one of the reasons the Texas venture for Pure Amusement was so successful was because of the scheduled appearance by The Scumbag Society. The Society was led to the ring by their front man, and PAW Superstar, Luke Knux, and after a brief interview with Cross Recoba, laid down a new track from their upcoming album. The song wasn't very flattering to one Jack Nomad, who was responsible for breaking the Rock God's nose at WICKED#8. Despite the graphic nature of the song, and the crude mantra, the fans seem to go ballistic anytime Knuxy is around, but especially when playing with the Society.
5) Jack Nomad went on a tear through the PAW locker room at WICKED#9, destroying Al Envy, Trixie, and Kelsey Spencer despite losing the Fatal Four Way that kicked off the show. By all accounts, if security hadn't shown up when it did, Nomad would have continued his antics post-match as well. Irate at his loss, the Hardcore One stalked to the back, but the expression on his face said that there would be future repercussions for everyone involved.
6) Jack Nomad's reign of terror didn't end at the start of the show, either. Later on, after The Box Office, and the Scumbag Society's song, Nomad caught up with Luke Knux once again, driving the already injured Rock God face first into a concrete wall. Sources around the scene say that the injury to Luke's nose was further unsettled after the attack, and that is the reason he is being pulled from active competition on WICKED#10.
7) Alexandra Kelly has run into quite a few hurdles since coming into PAW, dealing with men who seem to have a problem with hitting women. Despite their reservations, Kelly has proven twice now that she doesn't hold the same feelings as her male counterparts, as she put Trixie in The Alex Effect at WICKED#8, and put Muru down with her patented Spotlight finisher. 'The Pixie' is proving in every contest that she is a force to be reckoned with, and ALL MEMBERS of the roster, Male and Female, better take notice. Or else!
8) It was revealed during the William Saint versus Tapioca Joe fiasco, that William Saint had run into legal trouble over his contract still being active within the GZW. Joshua Samson was on hand to deliver the message, along with several unkind words for the Pure Amusement locker room and their fans. He also brought to the ring with him John Champa and Joshua Dane, who have grown accustomed to coming and going as they please in a PAW arena. The two Globalsters put the boots to Tap much as they had done to Saint in previous shows, and were planning on doing even more damage before Johnathan Alexander showed up with a steel chair. He chased the three jackals out of the ring, and stood over an injured Tapioca Joe until medical could arrive on scene.
9) Despite the threat of a full scale GZW Takeover, Johnathan Alexander, a relatively fresh face who hasn't even made his debut here in PAW, is the only person to step into the Globalster's path of destruction so far, with the exception of Saint & Joe. One has to wonder when the other PAW Superstars are going to get involved, or is it going to take a real desperate action to spur them into action. Perhaps the real question is, with each Superstar seemingly caught up in the midst of his own drama, would they even be able to work together long enough to repel an attack? Only time will tell.
10) Johnny Sykes shared a cotton candy with 'The Pixie' at WICKED#9, offering her apology for striking her in their match back on WICKED#8. Kelly tried to get the point across that she was a competitor, and they were in a match, so the strikes were acceptable, but it didn't appear to register in the 'Gameboy' toting Superstar's mind. The real story will be how Jack Nomad reacts when he finds out about this rendezvous, considering his ill will towards Trixie stemmed from simple comments the Superstarlette had made about his main squeeze, let alone a leisurely meeting over cotton candy. Johnny Sykes very well may have bitten off more than he can chew.
