First off, we have some new faces on the Roster. I'd like to welcome Nova Wonder and Bryan Williams to the fed. Looking forward to seeing what you guys bring to the table.
Second, I wanted to address these past two weeks. For many of us, they sucked. I was told that some of you had some internet issues, I know of one who was moving into a new home altogether, and couldn't be online. Rob lost a good pet just the other day, so sympathies. Munin was called into work several times, and had to deal with a convention in her store, and the list goes on. Personally, my father had a Heart Attack, and was airlifted to a hospital over an hour away, so for several days of last week I spent time between home, hospital, and work, and quite frankly didn't have time to do anything extra. On top of that, I received a promotion at work, earning more money, but a crap ton of extra responsibilities, and I'm trying to learn and grow in that field as we speak. Getting a nod from my employer, and then having to take time off for medical emergencies is not my idea of getting in good with the company, but alas, such is life.
All that being said, the show is complete with the exception of one match, which I've been assured I'll be getting sometime soon. I want to personally thank everyone who Roleplayed for this show, as it was mostly an angled show. Three Enhancement talent matches, and a Main Event that's almost guaranteed to spell disaster. We here at PAW have always been committed to telling a story, in and out of the ring, and welcome all styles. This show is instrumental to helping springboard us into the upcoming show on June 9th, which will be the closest thing to a PPV we've ever had. I'll get it posted the minute I get that match.
Heat Stroke is huge. Unlike our first Super Show which saw us limping along after everything that happened with the first debacle, this show is 100% legit. No angled matches. No need for them. I just wanted to thank all of you for that, because it's you guys who have really driven the feuds forward, and made this place interesting to the e-fed community. Though we only have a handful of handlers, and staff, our shows are receiving 350 to 400 hits, meaning that there are more than just a few fans standing by. That's why I've worked so hard to make sure that Shows are put out on time, and are structured with as much flow as possible for easy reading. That being said, this show is going to be very difficult to pull off, but before getting into that, I'd like to make mention of a few peeps that have made my life easier as of late.
Calvin Harris and Johnny Raike. Harris took a loss at our last Super Show, and turned it into a huge win for all of us creatively. He didn't ask anyone if he could enter the Main Event status, he just pushed his way on through with Roleplays and Segments that left little choice but to go along with it. Johnny Raike is equally formidable in this regard, as he is always quick to bounce back from any set backs, and accepts his successes with poise and grace. Both have been team players by allowing me to help set their direction towards one another ever since that first Super Show, which is why instead of the PAW Heavyweight Championship, their final match in Three Stages of Hell will be the Main Event at Heat Stroke. Quite frankly they have the most heat right now going into the event, and I feel that they deserve to be the headliners. I also want to apologize for not being able to Roleplay. This is the first time since my return to E-fedding (an 8 month period) where I haven't roleplayed for a match, angled or otherwise. Real Life and Fed Obligations finally caught up with me this time, and I didn't get to do what I had planned to do. So I'm sorry.
Luke Knux and Jack Nomad are the other two I'd like to mention. When I booked them in their match, it was mainly because I didn't have anywhere else for either of them to go, but because of that match, it spurred on a feud that's seen violent responses, and even a raunchy song on The Box Office. This is another match that I look forward to, as it has a lot of real heat going into it, so I want to thank you for your willingness to push forward despite some of the miscommunication.
Last but not least, Tate, Nate, and the other Globalsters. It's been a slow build that sometimes I would argue about, but now that the time has finally arrived for there to be some real throw down between GZW & PAW, I understand the reasoning behind the slow build. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all plays out at Heat Stroke, and the fact that you actually spurred Lady Munin to get off her ass and do something physical is amazing! It should be a really good match.
I normally don't do this, but I also want to throw a shout out at Alexandra Kelly and Kelsey Spencer specifically. Both of you are first rate roleplayers, and since you both don't have anyone that you're currently feuding with....I think it's a no-brainer to want to see you guys hook up. I said it on The PAW Report recently that you two were like two sides of the same coin. Spencer is the supreme face, sweet and nice, while Pixie, despite having her followers, has a bit rougher edge. I mean, she gets off on violence! So it stands to reason, at least in my mind, that the battles you two could create would become instant classics. Just something to think about.
And since I'm opening my mind up to thoughts, I'll go ahead and give you this. For those of you in the sixteen man battle royal, don't look at it, and just say, oh....a battle royal. This match is one of the most important matches on the card, not only for the #1 Contendership to the Titans of the Midway Championship, but because the last two or three participants in this match are going to instantly be pulled up into the Main Event to quell some of the void left by recent departures.
Also just a reminder, my 3 Hot Spots on any show is Opening Bout, Semi-Main, and Main Event (with The Box Office being an honorable mention). So if you're worried about your spot on the shows.....those three places are where you want to strive to be.
NOW! About Heat Stroke. Bottom line, I'm going to need help. I know I've got Nate for at least one match, maybe two. Obviously I will take a few matches, but I've also got to Roleplay. So when that production script goes up later today or tomorrow, I'd really appreciate anyone stepping up to the plate to help out. On a side note, I'd also like to add, if you have a segment where you are going to be coming out during a match, or interrupting a contest, that's fine...but that needs to be in early. Not on the segment deadline, but ASAP. If you have something you want to see in your match, or some move you'd like to showcase, again...that needs to be in ASAP. If you wait til just the regular segment deadline, I can almost assure you disappointment. The reason I'm so frazzled this week is because I've scrambled to get this show together, and I'm usually not like that. I have my templates set up for the next show, the same day the current event is posted. I write matches as I can, and far in advance so as to be able to get this stuff out on time. I'm not going to rewrite a match to fit in a strat that came in two days before showtime. Just not going to happen. With that being said, if it's extremely important to you to have certain things high lighted, then by all means, get those in...but as soon as possible.
In closing I'd just like to say thanks to everyone. I'm pretty glad to put these past two weeks behind me so that I can focus on this upcoming card. Barring no more real life crisis, I'm hoping to get a lot done over this weekend, and start roleplaying for my own characters. I'm looking forward to seeing all of your work, and hopefully this show will do what a PPV should. Resolve some issues, and create some new ones for future shows.
Thanks Again,
