Character Biography: Annabel is the daughter of a professional wrestler. She grew up watching her dad from backstage at shows. Very rarely did she have to settle for watching on TV and much of her childhood was spent on the road. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a wrestler when she grew up as well. Her father promised her that she could be as long as she got good grades in school. After high school he insisted that she go to college so that she had something to fall back on, just in case. Annabel studied Theater with a focus on costuming and made the Dean's list almost every semester. Once she graduated college, as promised, her father helped her find a good wrestling school. She just completed her training and is looking for her first promotion.
Career History: N/A
Gimmick: Annabel is a good sport above all else. She never cheats or uses questionable/illegal moves and always follows the referee's instructions. She's always willing to shake her opponent's hand at the end of a match. She wants to do everything the right way. She does, however, give everything she has when she steps into the ring. She will go until she can't go anymore and is very high energy. Inexperienced but not unintelligent or oblivious.
Entrance Music: 'Best Day of My Life' {by American Authors}
Entrance Description: As the opening notes of “Best Day of My Life” hit the sound system Annabel appears at the entrance. A glowing smile is plastered across her face as she starts down the aisle toward the ring. She can't help but start to dance along with the music about half way to the ring. She slaps a few hands before rolling in under the bottom rope and springing up to her feet. Pressing the fingertips of both hands to her lips, she blows a big kiss out to the audience and bounces up and down in her corner, loosening up for the match.

“Where's my lucky scrunchie?!” Annabel muttered as she opened and closed the drawers in the bathroom. The contents shuffled noisily inside each time. “I have to have it for this! I need my luck!” She pushed around the bottles and containers on the counter top, looking behind and between them.
When she raced out of the bathroom she accidentally left the light on. Her footsteps thundered on the wooden stairs as she raced down them to make a circuit of the first floor. “Daddy have you seen my lucky scrunchie?” she shouted toward the living room where she could hear the TV playing some western.
“I have no idea what your lucky scrunchie looks like, Princess.”
Annabel made an exasperated sound as he didn't even look away from the TV. “Daaad! It's my lucky scrunchie, I wear it everywhere! I wore it to my college interview and on graduation day and on my last day of wrestling school. You've seen it a billion times.” She checked the dining table, the kitchen counters, the little stand by the door where they put their keys, and the coffee table where her father had his feet propped up in the living room. All empty.
“I'm sure you could wear a different scrunchie and it would be just fine.” As the movie went to commercial he finally looked up at her, offering his most reassuring smile. It helped, a little.
“I have to have my lucky scrunchie. I know it's here somewhere. Are you going to help me? I'm almost ready to make my audition video.” She made a hopeful, yet accidentally pouty sort of face as she held her breath and awaited his answer. Her fingers crossed behind her back.
“Of course I'll help you, Princess. Just let me know when you're ready.”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Annabel bounced in place before she managed to get her feet going forward, throwing her arms around her father and the chair he was sitting in all at the same time. She gave him a big kiss on the cheek before bounding back up the stairs. “I just have to find my scrunchie!”
She skidded to a halt in the door of her bedroom as she spotted the purple hairband sitting on the stand beside the bed where she had probably taken it out the night before. “There you are!” Snatching it up, she raced back into the bathroom to finish getting ready. She rapidly began to comb her hair up, smoothing it into place with her hands and trying to get every last little one to behave so she looked professional when it came time to film.
She was so lost in concentration as she worked and re-worked her hair that she didn't even notice when her father had come up the stairs and started watching. At least not until the cleared his throat, “Are you ready yet, Princess?”
“I'm just trying to fix my hair. I need a few more minutes. It's not cooperating. I think it's the humidity.”
“It's been twenty minutes.”
Annabel's eyes went wide and she looked down at her watch. He was right. “I can't get my ponytail straight.” She scrunched up her nose as she looked back in the mirror.
Her father chuckled as he pushed off of the door frame and stepped into the bathroom. He laid his grizzled old hands on her shoulders and kissed her forehead. When he replied, he whispered, “Princess, your ponytail is never straight.”
Her eyes went wider yet and she made a scandalized sort of sound. “That's not true!” Before he could respond she shook her head. No time to worry about straight ponytails today. “I'm gonna get my lucky sweater and then I'll be ready! Can you get the camera set up pretty pretty please!”
Finding her lucky sweater turned into another adventure, but Annabel didn't notice how much time passed in her search. Her dad didn't come to tell her, either. When she skipped down the stairs into the basement where the white screen and stool were set up, she had donned the fluffy cream colored sweater that was far too hot for almost June. She hopped right onto the stool and adjusted herself so that the tiger printed on the shirt was staring forward at the camera.
“Alright, Princess, don't be nervous. Just be yourself, like we practiced.”
Before he turned the camera on, she looked past it and gave him a big smile. “Thank you Daddy, for everything. I promise I'll make you proud if they like me enough to hire me.”
“You make me proud no matter what. Now...” He went silent as he made the countdown for her. Three fingers, two, then one.
“Hey there everyone over at Pure Amusement Wrestling! My name is Annabel. Ever since I was a little girl I've wanted to be a professional wrestler. I couldn't when I was little because... well y'know, rules and stuff. I finished my wrestling school now though and I'm super excited to find somewhere that will give me the chance to prove myself.
“I've been doing my research and looking for somewhere good and I kept hearing about PAW over and over again. I narrowed my list down and down and I decided that PAW is where I want to sign my first contract! That is, of course, if you'll have me. I know you don't know who I am, but I promise that I'll work my hardest for you. I'll do my very best in every match and you won't regret it if you sign me.
“I know that I've got bunches to learn still and that if I want to make it to the top I have to earn my way there. I swear that I'll do exactly that if you'll just give me the chance. My dad always taught me to be the hardest working person in the room if I want to achieve my goals and I pinky promise that you will never ever get less than one hundred percent out of me.”
Realizing that she was starting to lean toward the camera, Annabel straightened back up. She unwound her fingers from the hem of her sweater as well, and folded them neatly in her lap. “I know that I don't look like much compared to some of those great big ol' beanstalks you've got over there, either. I can totally hand out some mean suplexes though! I've practiced my clotheslines and spinebusters and lariats SO many times. My trainers all said that they were spot on.
“I swear I don't leave big messes either. There won't be aaany cleaning up after me, no sir. I pick up after myself and I don't lose things either. Not that I expect you to give me anything, so if I lose my stuff it's my own fault because it's mine. ...Uh oh. I'm rambling huh? I ramble when I get a little nervous.
“And I'm super nervous right now. I've never wanted anything in my life more than I want to be a wrestler. And that's saying something, because I really like cake. But I want this even more than I want cake. So I hope that you'll consider giving me a chance with your awesome company. If you do, I won't let you down.”
Her father gave the indication that he had stopped the camera and she heaved a sigh, slouching on the stool. “My heart is going a million miles an hour. That was scary!”
He gave her another smile. “Just wait until you get in front of a live audience that isn't other students at school. That's when it gets really scary.”
She hopped down off of the stool and rounded the camera to throw her arms back around him for a hug. “Did I do good? Should I try again?”
He chuckled and kissed the top of her head. “You did fine, Princess. They'll love you. And if they don't, that's there loss. Come on, lunch time and then some training.”
“I'll make the food!” She broke out of his hug and raced up the stairs out of the basement, almost missing one and catching herself on the railing. “...Thanks again Daddy.”
