No one had expected this level of success. Certainly not Johnny Raike, who currently sits in the kissing booth filling out paper work and schedule, clearly unhappy to be doing so. Devon enters, followed by one of the new employees of the now larger booth; Steve or Stan or Stuart. Something with an St. He waves offhandedly as the men sign for their checks but engages neither. He hardly seems to notice as they exit, nose still down in his work. A few moments later the door opens again and Johnny looks up before doing a slight double take, eyes lighting up and a big smile breaking out across his face.
Johnny: Well hey, stranger! What brings you around these parts.
Lydia is the person on the other end of the question, looking slightly unkempt, though not disheveled. Lydia gives Johnny a small smile, but the air of sad around her doesn't give much.
Lydia: Thought I might come see the old place, see if I could get back on the schedule.
The look of relief and joy on Johnny's face is bright enough to rival most small suns.
Johnny: I'm so hoping get on the schedule means push me out of this seat and take over doing the schedule. I am so not cut out to keep books, I just keep wanting to throw them against the wall and set them on fire.
Lydia: Please don't do that again.
Johnny: I keep telling you that was Sarah.
Lydia: Either way. And I probably can't push you out of that chair, but yeah, I thought it was time to come back.
Johnny: You have no idea how happy that makes me.
A few moments of silence, quickly becoming awkward
Johnny: ...so the letters to Lola?
A guilty look spreads across Lydia's face.
Lydia: I'm her only friend.
Johnny looks pained, but quickly bears down so as not to offend
Johnny: Just...just don't....welcome home. We've missed you.
