The original Power Trio formed on June 23rd, 2016, in Houma, Louisiana at WICKED#13 during a segment of the show called The Box Office, hosted by Cross Recoba. Calvin Harris, having won the #1 Contendership to the PAW Heavyweight Championship at Heat Stroke in a Three Stages of Hell Match with Johnny Raike, was slated to be the special guest of the night. He came to the ring and conversed casually with Cross Recoba, and then went on to make claims that he would be the the next PAW Heavyweight Champion, no matter what! This prompted the current Champion, Press, to come to the ring and lay into Calvin with insults. Calvin would have none of it, and made a promise that 'The only person that's going to get broken out of the two of us is....' Before Calvin could finish his sentence the entire arena was cast into darkness, and a scuffle could be heard coming from the ring. When the house lights came back up, Calvin Harris stood over a battered Press, with 'Hardcore' Jack Nomad and 'The Pixie' Alexandra Kelly flanking him on either side. The crowd was stunned, as there had been no previous involvement between the three to entertain that they may be working together. After putting the boots to the champion one final time, Calvin found a moment to finish his sentence. 'You!', indicating that Press would have a long hard road till their inevitable meeting at the next Super Show, Bad Moon Rising.
Only two weeks later on July 7th, 2016, at WICKED#14, Press, along with his tag partner, Flaming Youth, played a few games with The Power Trio when Youth made a phone call to Jack Nomad, giving him the whereabouts of The Shadow. Jack and The Shadow had been embroiled in a game of cat and mouse since way back at WICKED#9, and Youth knew that the Hardcore One couldn't resist the chance to get his hands on The Shadow. Later in the show, he placed a call to Ji, Lady Munin's assistant, and made it out like the Lady wanted to see Alexandra Kelly in her office right before the start of the Semi-Main Event, which included none other than Calvin Harris. This in turn left Calvin Harris vulnerable after his match with CJ O'Donnell, in which Press caught him on the entrance stage, and Press Release Powerbombed him to the concrete floor below. Subsequently, this would also be Alexandra Kelly's last show, as her and her boyfriend, Jack Nomad, decided to go their separate ways. Thus, the Trio was reduced to a duo.
The team of Jack Nomad and Calvin Harris would take on The BombTrax on July 21st, 2016 at WICKED#15. The duo spent a great deal of the first half of the match teasing Press, which caught them in some harrowing spots. Deciding to take the match more seriously, Nomad and Harris systematically went to work on Youth, cutting him off from his corner, and employing double team efforts when able. Several times Press was drawn into the ring only to be pushed back by the referee, which only served to incense the man even further. Finally, with one big move, Youth created some separation from his opponents, but just when it looked like he was going to get the Hot tag, Cross Recoba, a man who Press had injured way back at WICKED#5 appeared on the ramp, and waffled the champion across the back with his service cane. This allowed the team of Harris and Nomad to pick apart Youth with their finishers, and pick up the easy victory by pinfall, the first ever loss for The BombTrax as a tag team. After ejecting Youth from the ring, Nomad and Recoba got the champion inside, the three men taking turns applying their devestating finishing maneuvers. Cross Recoba ended the onslaught with a Garibaldi's Guillotine on Press, who eventually passed out from the pain. Afterwards, the Trio allowed EMT's to gather the broken champion from the ring, as they addressed the PAW Universe. It was obvious that each man had their own reasons for the alliance, and that it didn't mean that they like one another either, but the one common goal all three men shared was success.
Many questions were raised after the formation of The Power Trio. The originals, including Kelly, first made their appearance on Cross Recoba's Box Office. Did the wily 'Fox' have something to do with this faction all along from the shadows? Jack Nomad claims that it was Kelly's decision to join the group in the first place, and that for now, he was simply along for the ride because he had given his word. How long will his word hold out before the volatile superstar strikes out on his own, and when he does, will it be at the expense of The Trio? Cross Recoba hasn't been in action for months, and despite being the financier of the group, will there be any ring rust to go along with his absence? If so, how long before the vipers come out of the wood work, namely Calvin Harris, who said as much that he wouldn't tolerate anything getting in the way of his goals? These questions, more than likely, will be answered in the weeks and possibly months to come. For right now, however, The Power Trio stands firm with two of it's members in the top five of the PAW Power Rankings, and their third making the biggest comeback in PAW History.
