Been thinking about this movie for a little while, it comes into my mind periodically because of the point in my life I saw it, and it managed to hit the right nerves when I was younger. Maybe it'll be something you enjoy? It is: Obviously it stars a few notables such as Robert Redford, Sydney Poitier, Ben Kingsley and Dan Akroyd.
It's about a team of security specialists, led by Redford, being hired by the NSA/CIA/FBI, I forget which, to steal the ultimate CODEBREAKING machine.
Naturally, things go awry for the team when they become embroiled in a larger network of conspiracy and lies. Very much predated a lot of the hacking stuff coming up nowadays.
If you're ever able to locate this movie, and into espionage type stuff with a bit of humor thrown in, then this may be an entertaining watch!

And one more, while I'm thinking of really fun older movies. This is: The Park is Mine starring Tommy Lee Jones.
In it, Tommy Lee Jones plays a war veteran who is having trouble reacclimatizing himself to living back amongst society. Inspired by a friend who became unable to carry through with the plan, Jones' character proceeds to take over New York's Central Park in order to send a message to the world!
Definitely a fun movie from back in the day.
I recommend it.

Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) premise: a hitman (John Cusack) attending his 10th high school reunion.
comedy. very 90s, though it might be odd for those whose only connection with the decade was slap bracelets and Nickelodeon cartoons-- this is the adult 90s, full of its weird self-consciousness and don't-call-it-yuppie-yuppiedom shit. it's... kind of like Friends, but if Chandler and Ross fused together into a sociopath. if you wanna look for it, there's social commentary going on: some of it's dated, some of it's only seemed to magnify in modern culture.
(and when I have time, more to come.)

I adore Sneakers. Though, I love just about anything with Redford in it. I'll post something a little more recent just to switch it up. A movie by one of my absolute favorite upcoming directors/writers. I'd also suggest seeing his film before this called "Blue Ruin" which is also a masterpiece.
A cast featuring Imogen Poots, Patrick Stewart, and the late Anton Yelchin. As well as a great supporting cast, including Macon Blair who is fantastic and I'm banking that he's going to be a bigger actor soon enough.
Looking for their next gig, a punk rock band travels across the country to make a date to a gig. Upon arriving, they see that it's a Nazi bar, but continue because you need money/exposure. Naturally, things just continue going downhill from there.
Definitely not a feel good movie. It's really raw and brutal, much like punk rock. Give it a go if you're not squeamish.

Speaking of Punk Rock movies. Here's a great Canadian Punk Rock-themed movie that gave a real band it's name no less. Surprising ending. Well done, and features the lead singer of Canadian Rock Band The Headstones it is...

OH. MY. GAWD. This movie... is absolutely brilliant. This movie is an actual piece of art. I've seen this movie five years ago, and this will always stick with me until I take my last dying breath. This is absolutely one of my all-time favorites and I feel like everyone should watch it. The director (Darren Aronofsky) would also go on to make The Wrestler, another favorite of mine. Here's a nice description of the movie from Wikipedia (I know, Wikipedia is a forbidden site, but it perfectly sums up the movie}: You have to watch it. It's phenomenal. It's so trippy, yet it's engaging and intriguing to watch. It was definitely ahead of its time imho. In fact, I think I'm going to watch it after posting this lol.

Here's a more modern release out of Asia. It is: Donnie Yen is notable for playing Ip Man, and I believe he has an upcoming role in Rogue One.
This is an awesome martial arts film paying a great homage to Bruce Lee!!
