================================ CAMERA OFF – My Apartment – 8–11–16 – Noon-ish? ================================ I lay on a weight bench pressing a decent three fifty, a Phil Collins marathon going on over the radio for some fucking reason. I never bothered to change it, focusing on pumping the iron. Never could understand why I couldn't get ripped like a motherfucker. I'm bench pressing like a body builder and yet it's like it doesn't even apply. Oh well, at least I get stronger with each session and that's what counts.
Earlier in the day I spent some time with my two soldiers. I showed them both the video by Press and it was particularly amusing to watch them both react. It just added to their focus and made them much stronger. Sadly, he also poked a few barbs at me. Fine, let him think I'm stupid. Wouldn't be the first motherfucker to make that mistake.
I hit the fortieth repetition as I continue weighing my thoughts before this crucial match. What he doesn't understand is that I see Deus for what he is. A five-foot-five zealot in an iron mask, a true believer that sees himself as a God. What Press doesn't know is that I've smashed motherfuckers who were far more brutal and intimidating than him that laid on the God talk just as thick as this Deus fucker does.
There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity and what's funny is, it has a lot to do with knowing yourself and your limits. He assumes much with a broad generalization of my actions. He assumes I don't know what the fuck I'm doing and that's exactly what the fuck I want. Assume away motherfucker. Read my mind if you can because if you were as smart as you thought you were, you'd realize that I simply do what I fucking want.
Honestly, I think Press just wants to name drop as much as he fucking can. First he calls me a tool for the two bitches I was hanging out with. Now he's calling me stupid for taking out one and going after the other? Make up your mind asshole, fuck... Forty nine....
Nobody in PAW scares me in the slightest. Not a single, solitary, motherfucker. I give Press his due as the champion and a big motherfucker with a high body count to his credit, but do you think I'd shy away from his royal worship?
No, I welcome the motherfucker to my parlor just as I would anyone else. Maybe he can kick my ass, maybe he can't. At this point, I want my day in court against him. I want my one on one opportunity and I'll be careful what I wish on some other bitch's dime. I'm sick and fucking tired of being mentioned in his goddamned promos when, at this point, he has bigger fucking concerns to worry about, like the tiny motherfucker calling himself Deus that dropped his ass at Bad Moon Rising.
Who gives a fuck what he thinks? I slam drop the bar bell on it's hanger and sit up. Without even pausing for a break, I go straight to the fucking punching bag and start beating the living shit out of it. I don't care, I'm just unleashing a little pent up rage at this point.
I'll bide my time because I know eventually, I'll get my one on one time with Press in the wrestling ring. It's all but inevitable at this point anyways. For now, I have to kill Calvin Harris and get my spot in the big Championship rumble coming up. Maybe I'll be the one sticking it to that sanctimonious motherfucker once and for all and take that fucking Championship off his waist. Wouldn't that be a hell of a way to rub it in my former Power Trio band mate's faces?
I smile as I send the punching bag careening away from me with a powerful roundhouse kick.=============================== CAMERA ON – Location unknown – 8-12-16 =============================== Pitch black. That's how this little video is going to start. I'm somewhere in this pure blackness, standing there, not even sure if I'm looking at a camera or not. The scene itself will be revealed in time, but for now, content yourself with my soothing voice and it's less than calming words as I take this moment to talk about events that have unfolded and events that are to come. In the background, one could hear the soft playing of Phil Collin's masterpiece, '...In the Air Tonight,' which is oddly fitting considering our circumstances.“ There were quite a few interesting developments on PAW television not too long ago, namely the complete dissolve of the Power Trio. Not a name I'd have come up with, but then again, I didn't come up with it. It was a brand slapped upon us because we didn't care what we were called. For a minute, we were the hottest commodity in professional wrestling. Calvin Harris...” A shot of my good buddy Calvin pops up on the screen. Fucking dick sickle.“... Cross Recoba...” There's Cross. Yep, looking prim and pretty in one of his suits. Yeah, fuck him and his bitch lips too. “... Oh and This motherfucker here.” I finally pull the chain and light the bulb hanging just a short ways from my face. The camera is to the left of me and slowly I turn my head to look towards it, the gleam of the bulb reflected in the lens. Yeah, this motherfucker right here. “ Why did this happen? Everything seemed fine and dandy.... on the surface. Let us start at the beginning. In that humble start, I didn't join out of some sort of mutual respect or anything but because once upon a time, I cared about someone more than myself. Alexandra Kelly was sought out by Calvin Harris when she and I had first arrived in PAW. However, The Pixie had her own plan and originally, she wanted to use Calvin and stomp him out like a brush fire once that usefulness was exhausted.” Anyone with half a brain could have seen what she was doing. I was merely along for the ride at that point with no major goals to speak of. I was her support, nothing more. “ What I was to them in hindsight, was just a good dog looking for motherfuckers to maul. I didn't care who I bit and so for their purposes, I was perfect.” I pause and shake my head. It was some sad shit. “ The troubles began, however, when the love of my life slowly but steadily ruined her appeal as a sexual and life partner. She'd piss and moan and bitch and complain and after awhile, I'd walk out in the middle of conversations. Eventually, we were barely even speaking and finally, I dealt the death blow to our relationship and made it official. After taking an ass kicking from Nova Wonder, she was gone from the ranks of PAW.” A small but brief flash of something crosses my face. I fight that feeling back. The past is behind me, not in front of me. I focus my thoughts and continue forward.“ When I got here, Calvin was fucking nothing to me and the only thing that kept me in his fold were my own moral principles. I've never betrayed my word to anyone, but eventually we all have to come face to face with that one exception. Calvin Harris is that one exception. You see I've listened to him piss and moan and bitch and cry and whine like a fucking cunt about Preston for so fucking long that I really started evaluating our relationship. He started to remind me a bit too much of dealing with Pixie. The only difference is, she's a great fuck and could suck a mean dick. Calvin didn't exactly have that going for him, but then again, who knows what kind of kinky shit he and Nova Wonder get up to in the sack.” I snicker at the thought of The Wonder girl giving Calvin Harris a little strap on rape action. Fucked up image, but a damn funny one at that. “ Is it sad when I think your woman has more of a nut sack than you do, Calvin? That I think she's the one wearing the pants in the relationship? Whatever you do or let her do to you at night must be something amazing because I have no idea why such a strong, sexy, brutal, and outright charismatic bitch would have anything to do with a lying cunt like you.” My boots thud on the hardwood floor beneath me as I step around that light bulb, turning more fully to face the camera. I feel those muscles on my face twist and contort in disgust, strands of black hair hanging in my face. “ Calvin Harris, motherfucker I wasn't the first to break his word in this exchange. Do you remember the details when we first talked about an alliance? Do you remember when me, you, and Pixie sat down for a dinner together and hammered this shit out before we ever made all of this official? You had one fucking job and that was to help me get the Shadow and bring that motherfucker to his knees. You had one job Calvin... one... fucking... JOB and you couldn't even do that, let alone beat Press and become the PAW Champion.” With a finger pointed down at the floor for emphasis, I make my bullet point. “ No, Press of all people did more for me tracking the Shadow than you ever did son. You failed me, you failed the Trio, and you failed yourself and when we get in that ring, you will continue your failure because I'm going to beat you like a fucking skunk haired step-child. Pixie had you pegged right from the beginning as nothing more than a stepping stone.” I roll my head forward, crossing my arms over my leather vested chest. The dim light only showed me from the waist up, the bulb barely fit for the task at hand but more than enough for what I wanted it for. “ Press has not only outsmarted you in every encounter, he's out fought you and beaten you because you are not on his level. You're certainly not on Nova Wonder's level and on the fifteenth at Addiction, in the PAW arena in front of more than a few thousand wrestling addicts, you're going to find out you're not on my level either, Calvin.” My nostrils flare as I suck in a sharp breath through them. “ Like Phil Collins said, Calvin, If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand. Well I was there and I saw what you did, I saw it with my own two eyes. So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been. It's all been a pack of lies, and I can feel it, coming in the air tonight... Oh Lord...” There is no smile, no mockery, not even a snicker on my face. I deliver it with the same grimness that Phil Collins did in that classic video all the way back in nineteen eighty one. In a past life, it was an anthem for me growing up and it's funny how now it would come back to me all these years later. “ I may have not been waiting for this moment all my life, but it has been more than a long time coming, motherfucker. While I am self proclaimed human garbage, even garbage is better than pig shit. I expect a full burial and denial of everything you know is true about me because you can't face the reality that you're about to step into the worst fucking beating of your life. You'll label me a dishonest cunt who stabbed you in the back and didn't play the game to your face. Motherfucker, the signs were there all along, you just weren't paying attention. You're too busy being caught up in the mystifying experience of being the egocentric self-loving bitch that is Calvin Harris.” I stroke my thumb beneath my chin, half turning from the camera, but keeping my gaze fixed upon it. “ You're promo will stack word upon word, firing on all cylinders with visceral anger but we'll see the same point hammered over and over a million times. You'll think what you're saying is a masterpiece because you're so in love with your fucking voice and the way it sounds hitting your ear when in truth, you're just an asshole stuck on a verbal spin cycle that never ends, missing the point entirely.” From my vest pocket, I produce an L and M red one hundred cigarette and light that motherfucker with a few flicks of a cheap as fuck bic lighter. One puff, two puff, three puff and the tip of the cigarette smolders nicely. I take a good drag from it and blow a puff of smoke passed my lips before continuing. “ There are times that I've spoken at length as I am here now and there are times that I've kept it short, sweet, and to the point, but when I speak, motherfucker, I speak with purpose and I'm heard. Just like me, everyone is tired of your pissing and moaning and I'm sure that when I step out into that arena, it'll be one of the few times in my life that the fans love me more than the motherfucker I'm up against and it's not because you are any worse than me. It has nothing to do with our comparable in-ring talents. It has everything to do with you being a whiny two-faced cunt while I've been nothing but straight forward with each and every one of them out there.” With the cigarette between my fingers, I point to my left as if to indicate the fans and the outside world. I then lower the hand, flicking a few ashes to the floor before bringing it back to my lips. Another suck and another puff of smoke is released, two small streams from my nostrils. “ If you were even half the man that I am... We wouldn't be in our present situation. Every fucking event, you're threatening to quit PAW over some perceived wrong doing, blaming every motherfucker around you but yourself. It's sad and pathetic that I made myself an enemy out of The Bombtrax to help such an ungrateful, punk ass bitch as Calvin Harris.” That irked me more than anything else. Oh well, shit happens sooner or later. It'll just be sooner in this case and with less respect from my future opponent. Like I ever gave a damn about the respect of those who face me. “ Sooner or later, The Bombtrax will come for me among others since you and I first met and when that time comes, I'll be ready for that fight and you know something? I wouldn't be ashamed if they actually did kick my ass and leave me a broken fucking mess somewhere quiet. If I won the war on the other hand, great. Another day at the office for Jack fucking Nomad.” A thought hits my brain and I can't help but share that shit right here and now on camera. “ Motherfucker, I own up to the mistakes I've made and they all began with saying yes to the desire of another, my judgment clouded by who I wrapped around my cock rather than what I fucking wanted. If it weren't for Pixie, my list of victims would have gone a little something like this, Tapioca Joseph, Fuck Knux, and then Calvin Harris. My reason? I hate you. I hate everything about you. Your look, the smug grin on your face, that stupid fucking hair, and most of all, your shitty fucking attitude and it's my pleasure to wipe you off the face of the PAW landscape. I've been waiting for this moment, Calvin. I... have... been... waiting and so have you, old friend. Everything you've ever been and ever aspired to be has brought you before me.” I steep my fingers before my face, my head tilted forward as I stare into the camera with an intense, focused concentration. “ What I ask you is this one question, Artist of Betrayal; When we're finished here, where will you lay the blame? Will you wisely look in the mirror.... or.... will you just find yet another scapegoat to pin the murder of yourself upon? Scream my name, bitch, and see if I care. On the fourteenth of August, our issues will be buried in a coffin alongside you and there will be no doubts, no whining, no bitching, pissing, moaning, or complaining to be had. Jack Nomad is leaving you behind, Calvin, to wallow in your self pity as a broken shell of your former self and to be honest, I've never been happier to beat the fuck out of someone than I am to do so to you.” “ No one has deserved what's coming to him more than you do. I'll do what Press couldn't do and I will send your ass packing motherfucker, because PAW is too fucking hardcore for you. I think there's a little wrestling company up in Baltimore that's more your speed. Well that is if you're capable of ever walking again after we've finished. See you on the fourteenth, Calvin Harris and if I have my way, it'll be the last fucking time we ever lay eyes on one another because the only way you're leaving the arena is in a bag.” I reach out to the light bulb's hanging cord. With a simple tug of some string, it's lights out motherfuckers. ============================= CAMERA OFF – Later that night – Struggles of a Shattered Mind. ============================= I hate sleeping. I wish I was an insomniac who never needed this shit, but try as I might, I always have to face the music every fucking time I go to sleep. I walk through a forest with desert sands in place of the ground. A sun hangs high in the sky, glowing orange against a velvet backdrop, not unlike an evening sunset. As always, this was the fucked up visual imagery that made up my dreams. “ You're slipping, Jack.” I turn to the source of that oh so familiar voice and it's young Adrian Rhodes, standing there, glaring at me as he always does. “ Oh yeah, how so fuckstain?” He smirks at me. Motherfucker, I'll wipe that smirk off your face! “ Who do you think planted the seed for your turn against Cross and Calvin?” I glare at him with such venom. I storm right up to him and backhand him right off his feet, sending him skidding across the sand. “ Motherfucker, my thoughts are my own. I decided this course of action and you had not a fucking thing to do with it!” He chuckled at me. He dares to fucking laugh? I gather him up by his ratty Winger shirt and slam him up against a tree. “ STOP LAUGHING AT ME!” “ You don't even know what's going on in your own mind, Jack. You used to be in control. You used to be the man. Now? We're all working together to self destruct. I don't care if I take back this body anymore. All I want to do now, Jack, is to be free one way or another. If we die, then so be it. At least I'll be free of you.” I punch him as hard as a fucking can and proceed to violently knee him in the guts over and over, and yet Adrian doesn't fight back. He laughs at me, mocking me, driving me on further to hurt him more and more. It's like he doesn't even feel the pain I'm inflicting on him! “ Cross Recoba.... The Bombtrax.... Deus... Calvin Harris... All those enemies and many more who will be looking to destroy you Jack. I've helped guide you down this path of self destruction and the only way you'll save yourself is if you just... let... go.” He's right... he's fucking right. I clench my fists up tight, letting him drop to the ground. He coughs up a bit of blood and snickers at me. I run up and punt kick him right in the ribs, sending him rolling right onto his fucking back. “ Fuck you, Adrian. I die, you die, those are the rules. Same as anyone else here.” “ I don't want to live like this, Jack. I can make it all go away if you just give up control.” If my eyes could kill, then a part of me would be dead right now as I scowl with intense hatred at the old me, battered, bloodied, and smiling up at me like the conniving fuck that he is. “ Press has said it repeatedly and he's right.... you're a fucking idiot, Jack. Anybody can play you and for all your smarts and experience, you never wise up to it. It's downright tragic, considering that we have the same intellect but you never take full advantage of it.” I roar with rage and fury, rushing at him and just as I'm about ready to stomp his skull completely flat, I wake the fuck up screaming. I sit up, coated in sweat back in my bed. My fingers run through my soaked scalp and I lean forward, quaking with anger. “ This is my body... MY BODY ADRIAN! I will die before I let you take what is rightfully mine!” His voice echoes in the back of my skull with an answer... “... then together we die, Jack.” “ No Adrian, I won't die. I will survive, adapt, and fucking conquer and the first step will be taking out that miserable fuck, Calvin Harris.” With that declaration, I roll out of bed, the morning sun peaking at me through the curtains. It was time to prepare for war. I dial up Mercy & Sin to get the troops ready. ===============================

“THE BEGINNING!” Flashback June 9th, 2016 Backstage Following Heat Stroke Camera: Off Heat Stroke had come and it had gone. It had been on this night that history had been made for Pure Amusement Wrestling. This event had made them put a staple on the wrestling business and the wrestling circuit that existed. This event let it be known that the company itself wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon. There had been so much that had happened on this night that it was going to be talked about for weeks and even months still to come. Hands down the best match of the night. As well as the match that would be talked about for some time to come was the Three Stages of Hell match between Johnny Raike and Calvin Harris. The PAW Universe watched as the two men laid it all on the line. Not once did either one of them back down from each other. They spilled blood. They spilled sweat. They most likely even spilled a few tears out on that canvas, but no one could take anything away from them. They had laid it all on the line and in the end it was Calvin who took the victory. A victory that not only solidified himself as one of the best wrestlers on the roster, but also a victory that guaranteed him a shot at the PAW Heavyweight Championship coming up at the next big event.
One could only imagine how much Calvin was going to rub that in the first chance he got. It was almost enough to make people dread the next Wicked taking place. Now with the show coming to an end and the cameras had stopped rolling. It was time for everyone to get their things, head to the airport, and head on home. Everyone on the PAW roster would have some down time for a few weeks. At this point nearly everyone had gotten their things and had disappeared. Calvin on the other hand hadn’t made it that far just yet. In fact he found himself limping down the hallway pulling his gear bag behind him. Every step he took made it appear as if it hurt. Not that anyone could blame him for that. After all the man had launched himself off the top of the Hell in the Cell structure. Along with that Calvin had a massive bandage over the top of his left eyebrow. That was covering up the thirteen stitches it had taken to sow his head back together after being busted open. Simply put Calvin was beat up, but he had a reason to be in a good mood which is why that smirk was plastered across his lips. By that time he had reached the door that was meant to lead out into the parking lot. Calvin went to reach for the door to push it open, but as he did it was being pulled open.Thankfully he was able to catch his balance and not fall forward with the door being pulled. His eyes shifted to directly in front of him to see a familiar face. That just happened to be Alexandra “Pixie” Kelly. For that brief moment the two looked at each other until Calvin heard a small high pitched “Excuse me.” escape the tiny woman’s lips while she pushed right on past him. Alexandra had taken just a few steps on past him in the direction of the women’s locker room, but she didn’t get too far. For Calvin had spun himself and spoke out loud to catch her attention.CALVIN HARRIS: Alexandra...ALEXANDRA KELLY: I ain't got a hearing problem till now...CALVIN HARRIS: That’s a hearing problem you might want to fix because I’ve got something to say. Better yet, I’ve got something to ask you.In that moment he watched as Alexandra turned her tiny statue around to face him. Based on her facial features he could tell that she didn’t seem to be the most chipper person in the world. Then again that might have had a lot to do with her coming up short in the battle royal earlier in the night. None the less regardless of her facial features and the aura that surrounded her. Calvin went ahead.CALVIN HARRIS: Look regardless of what happened out there tonight in your match. There’s no doubt that you’re one of the most dominate people on this roster. That was your first loss since you came into the company. And I’ve never considered it a loss when someone has thrown me out of the ring. If you’re not pinning me or you’re not making me tap out then it’s a not a victory.ALEXANDRA KELLY: A little surprising to hear. Considering your little play toy is the one that won the entire thing.CALVIN HARRIS: I love Nova to death. She’s fucking good and no one can take that away from her, but even she knows she’s still got a lot to prove. In due time she’ll prove it, but that’s not what this conversation is about.Shaking his head from side to side.CALVIN HARRIS: Like I said you’re one of the most dominate people on the roster. When you came to this company, everyone was talking about how good you are. Lady Munin was practically foaming at the mouth to lick your clit and put you over to everyone on the roster. No offense when I say that, but it’s the fucking truth. To me I didn’t know who you were. I wasn’t going to buy the hype. I am not easily impressed like everyone else on this roster. That being said though after watching what you’ve been able to do these last few months. I have to admit I’m impressed. I like the way you carry yourself. I like the way that you get things done in that ring. You didn’t let the hype just be enough, you actually proved yourself. She was standing still, one hand moved to her hip. Like always she played with one of her long locks. When he finally took a breather, Alexandra gave a wicked smile.ALEXANDRA KELLY: You know what the funny thing about hype is? It means shit. It makes you lazy nine times out of ten. But...She looked up at him.ALEXANDRA KELLY: ... someone like you has zero need to throw out compliments. So I assume you want something.CALVIN HARRIS: Well considering I already told you I had something to ask you. You’d be right about that, but I wouldn’t really consider it a situation where I want something. Nor is it a situation where I need something. Instead it’s a situation that could benefit the both of us.Letting his free hand push the dark long hair out of his face. His eyes becoming a little more visible as he made sure to lock them on hers. For no other reason than to let the seriousness be felt.CALVIN HARRIS: You’ve proven yourself time and time again around here, but even in doing so. You don’t get the proper recognition for it. As far as I am concerned, you should have been the next one in line for the Titan of the Midway Championship. The moment I beat Raike’s bitch ass for it to begin with. He should have been forced to move to the back of the line. But you see that’s the thing that we have in common with each other. You don’t get the recognition that you deserve. Just like I don’t get the recognition regardless of what we do.There was a small amount of bitterness in his voice when he laid it all out there. Tonight he had proved everything he needed to prove, but in the back of his mind he knew that he wouldn’t get the credit that he deserved.CALVIN HARRIS: So I got to thinking that what would happen if our forces combined? What would happen if I had your back and what would happen if you had my back? Having you in my corner would almost ensure that the playing field when I face Press would be even. Because we all know Press leans on Youth far too much for the so called Heavyweight Champion. And then having me in your corner is going to ensure that you start getting what you deserve. For I’ll fight for you, just as hard as I fight for myself. I mean think about Alexandra... The only way we’re going to succeed is if people that are as good as we are, support each other. The expression on her face was a mixture of surprise and suspicion. She made a few steps back, those dark eyes fixated on him.ALEXANDRA KELLY: Let's pretend for a moment that I am blonde. You and me as a team. Why not you and what's her face?CALVIN HARRIS: History has shown that Nova and I cannot mix our relationship with our work. At some point or another something happens, when it does things go sour real quick. I learned my lesson years ago when work related is the reason we broke up and didn’t speak for four years. His eyes had narrowed some speaking with that serious tone of voice.CALVIN HARRIS: Not to mention I have a vision. That vision doesn’t go hand in hand with what Nova wants nor what she needs right now. It’s best I don’t include her in what I do. Just like she isn’t going to include me in what she does. However this alliance between us can get us both what we want and what we need.ALEXANDRA KELLY: You do realise I already have a team partner, right?CALVIN HARRIS: Yeah, the big goofy fuck that looks like he doesn’t know how to tone up his body and tries entirely too hard to be edgy? Tries entirely too hard to be scary? Tries entire too hard to be hardcore? I’m aware... but I’m not asking to be your tag team partner. Who the hell wants to be Tag Team partners when there isn’t even Tag Team Championships to compete for? That’s just redundant as hell. His facial expression had said it all with a slight roll of his eyes.CALVIN HARRIS: We don’t have to be tag team partners. We don’t have to come up with a tag name. We don’t need to go work on tag moves together. We don’t need to sit down and decide music together. It isn’t like that at all. Instead it’s an alliance. You help me when I need it. I help you when you need it. That’s as cut dry as it gets.ALEXANDRA KELLY: Oh I get it Calvin. The thing is, him and me got here together. We are an alliance itself. So if you want to work with me, you get a double deal. Because I am by no means interested.. to catch heat or worse.CALVIN HARRIS: Catch heat? Something worse? Are you telling me that because you came here together, you have to do everything together? Because shit like that is what’s going to hold you down. No offense Alexandra. You might be tiny like a chihuahua but don’t let him yank on your collar like you’re one too.ALEXANDRA KELLY: Careful sweetheart. Its the small dogs that give you infectious wounds. But to answer your question, no. It is about me being a loyal girlfriend and partner. So make up your mind.CALVIN HARRIS: You’ve been doing this longer than I have from what I know. And the fact that you still think loyalty actually gets you somewhere in this business. It never has and it never will. Loyalty will hurt you more than that it’ll ever help you.His eyes remained on hers while he shook his head from side to side. Truth be told he was a little surprised by what he was hearing come from her mouth. CALVIN HARRIS: So it’s a combo deal or no deal is what you’re saying. But can you tell me what Nomad brings to the table? Can you tell me what about him would benefit me at all? Sure he’s big but he isn’t bad. Sure, he’s got hype but like you said nine times out of ten it makes someone lazy. It’s made him lazy. From what I have seen Nomad hasn’t faced anyone at this point that’s been worth a damn. You have. You’ve worked hard. I have faced people worth a damn. I have worked hard. Giving Nomad this platform to be part of this would just continue to enable him. Continue to allow him to believe his own hype. Continue to allow him to just skate by, but if you can give me a valid reason why I should let him be in on this deal. If you can provide me with a valid reason he could be an asset. I might consider this... But if not then this conversation never happened. She would look at him for a long moment. It was like time had stopped. But then she would burst out laughing. It was that kind of mental laughter.ALEXANDRA KELLY: So pretty and yet so dumb. Do I look like someone that joins forces with just anyone? In and out of the business. I ain't the type to beat my own drum. But if any of the words you said before.. had any value, then you take the combo deal. Because together we will leave a mark. And you will get my full attention. Without worrying my sweet, little head.CALVIN HARRIS: You mistake me as someone that’s looking for your attention. Instead I am someone that is providing you with a platform to work side by side with me. That way together we can achieve what we deserve. Because together they can’t hold us down. Together we are united, but divided no matter how hard we try. No matter how hard we fight. No matter how good we truly are. They are going to see to it that we fall. His words did have some substance behind them. Even if his views were a little misguided and even if he carried himself with the mentality that everyone was out to get him. There was still some truth to it.CALVIN HARRIS: Personally, I don’t see Nomad as a threat. I don’t see him as a challenge. I don’t see him as anyone that can get the job done. Size and hype don’t mean shit. Since we’re being honest Alexandra. I think he’s a joke and it won’t be long before he gets exposed but I’ll bite the bullet for now. As long as you hold yourself accountable. If Nomad doesn’t deliver, I’m going to take him out behind a shed and put him out of his misery before he can hurt our goal. Do I make myself clear?ALEXANDRA KELLY: Always such a cute monkey. Let me get something clear then too.She stepped very close, invading his private room. Still that smile on her.ALEXANDRA KELLY: I like you. You are a merciless fighter. Which suit me well. But shall you ever threaten me again.. and yes it is a threat to speak like that about my man.. then you will realise there is a reason I got a certain reputation. She stepped back and in a way more relaxed manner stretching out her hand.ALEXANDRA KELLY: I won't piss in your cereals, when you don't piss in mine.Calvin found himself looking at that tiny hand that was extended in his direction before his eyes shifted up in her direction. There seemed to be fire that ignited them which forced them to see more lit up than usual.CALVIN HARRIS: One thing you’ll soon find out is I don’t make threats, I make promises. And what I said was a promise, so let’s just hope for his sake. It isn’t forced to go down that road. His large hand cupped Alexandra’s leading to a firm handshake. In that very moment it felt like the two of them had just made a deal with the devil. A deal that would not only benefit them, but a deal that very much might end up being a situation where they were going to have to constantly look over one’s shoulders. Not to mention now more than ever it was a matter of Alexandra keeping her boyfriend and tag partner in line for the best interest of themselves. As soon as that handshake broke Calvin’s lips curved into a smirk as he turned his back to Alexandra and proceeded to push the door to the parking lot open taking himself out that door. In slowly making his way out to the rental car where Nova was waiting on him, Calvin had no idea that this would end up being one of the decisions he’d regret the most in his professional wrestling career and it would only take a couple weeks for that to prove to be true.
“WELCOME TO THE BUSINESS” September 5th, 2016 Buddy Wayne Academy Camera: On Forty five minutes Calvin had sat driving in a car. Forty five minutes from Seattle, Washington to Everett, Washington. It wasn’t that bad of a drive considering sometimes he had been in the car for six to seven hours driving before. Not to mention this was a drive that he had been over the course of a couple of months. When he had a free day with literally nothing going on he’d drive down to Everett but not for any reason. No he drove down because of the Buddy Wayne Academy.
A professional wrestling school dedicated to helping the next generation of professional wrestlers. Calvin might have played an asshole on television, but he loved helping. He loved helping teach people knew things, teach them how to learn the craft, and teach them the tools to be successful in a very cutthroat business. Today though was going to be a little different and the reason it was different is because an official PAW camera crew was tagging along with him.
It was a chance for the PAW Universe to see what he was like outside of the wrestling ring. Then again in the back of Calvin’s mind he didn’t expect anything to change. Nor did he really want it to change when it came to how the PAW Universe saw him. He was walking up to the old warehouse building with two men with cameras following behind him. Walking in and right away a line of students could be seen standing around the ring chatting with one another.
Calvin nodded his head impressed with the size of the class, just as the actual owner and trainer started to approach him. He stuck his hand out to Calvin which was accepted.CALVIN HARRIS: How’s it going Buddy?BUDDY WAYNE: Well it’s another day. I’m breathing and therefore I shouldn’t have any reason to complain right?CALVIN HARRIS: You sir are correct. That being said though I wanted to thank you for letting me come down here with a camera crew today. I plan to do things a little differently, if you don’t mind.BUDDY WAYNE: I don’t mind at all. You’ve been coming down for months helping me out with these kids. You do things however you want to do them today. You know if you need me, I’ll be in my office.CALVIN HARRIS: Sure thing. Those were Buddy’s parting words as he turned his back and started to walk towards the area in which his office was set up. Calvin turned around to the two men holding the cameras.CALVIN HARRIS: Turn those things are and following me. Capture anything said or done. That’s your only job. I trust that you won’t manage to screw that up. Or at least I’d hope not.The instructions were given and that’s all that needed to be said in his mind. Both men lifted up the cameras to do as ordered with Calvin starting to approach the ring where everyone was. Bringing his fingers up to his lips before whistling as loud as he could sending a sharp piercing sound through the airwaves gaining the attention of almost everyone.CALVIN HARRIS: May I have your attention ladies and gentlemen?!Those words finished gaining the attention of the class. He stood there before everyone as the two camera men moved in different positions to be able to get everything on camera. Course the class was a little thrown off by the cameras seeing as many of them hadn’t even had their actual debuts yet. Yet in Calvin speaking up it was going to help keep their attention off of the camera crew.CALVIN HARRIS: Over the last couple of months I have been coming down here and helping you folks out as much as I could. I’ve climbed in the ring with many of you. I’ve showed you different moves. I’ve showed you ways to be safer in the ring. Not just for your opponent but for yourself as well. I’ve taught in ring awareness. I’ve given tips on how to lift weights and how to improve in general in the ring. Simply put between those ropes I have done a lot for you to help you with the business, but the truth of the matter is there’s a lot more to this business than just wrestling.Looking outward he could see every last eyeball was on him. That proved that not only was he a man that demanded and deserved attention, but it also told him that these kids were willing to learn. Kids like this would mean that the world of professional wrestling would be left in good hands. Sadly, there weren’t enough kids like this in the business.CALVIN HARRIS: There are so many aspects of the business it’s crazy. From politics, to knowing what to do and what not to do in certain backstage situations. Walking on eggshells would certain people. The list goes on and on. Because of that I have decided that for the most part class today is going to consist of you guys asking me questions. I’ll use my own personal experiences and the knowledge I have to give you the best answer possible. All while getting a chance to be on camera, how exciting is that?Students started to look around at one another as if one of them were going to speak up over the other. Almost like they didn’t really know what to do.CALVIN HARRIS: Not everyone at once answer or even bother to ask a question. His sarcastic nature oozed out which prompted nearly everyone in the room to raise their hands. He surveyed everyone raising their hand before pointing to one of the ladies in the front row.CALVIN HARRIS: Alison. Go ahead.ALISON: I’m just wondering here. Considering you’ve been a couple different locker rooms over your career. By now you would know if it’s better to mind your own business and keep your opinion to yourself.CALVIN HARRIS: I guess that depends on what do you mean by minding your own business and keeping your opinion to yourself. Sometimes it’s for the best and sometimes it isn’t for the best. In fact there are times where you need to speak your mind or no one is ever going to respect you. Did you have a specific example? I might be able to answer the question better.ALISON: Well for example let’s say that someone trashes the locker room. Or let’s say someone is doing something that goes against locker room policy. Should you say something? You should voice your opinion? Should you go to someone in charge? CALVIN HARRIS: Oh for the love of God, do not be a Jack Nomad. In those words coming out of his mouth, he briefly pressed his palm against his face and gave a small shake of his head. That lasted for only a second before he looked back at the students.CALVIN HARRIS: From the looks on your faces. It seems that not too many of you have heard of Jack Nomad. Don’t worry, not very many people in general have. But the reason I said that is because there is a man in this business named Jack Nomad who feels the need to assert himself and his opinion in everything. He feels the need to be a tattle tail about anything and everything that he sees. I have seen this man complain about a doll being produced for my girlfriend. He was ready to rage quit over it because it resembled something that was similar to a friend of his from years back... Are you fucking serious? Was that hurting him at all? Was that hurting the business? Was that hurting the company we work for in anyway or the people in the company? Of course not. It had nothing to do with him, but he wanted to tattle about it and cause drama. Shit like that and people like that give this business a bad name. So, to answer your question Alison. When it comes to things like that. Just don’t be that guy, stay to yourself. Do your own thing. Have your own back. People will respect you more.ALISON: Yes sir, thank you for your advice!CALVIN HARRIS: Anytime, that’s what I am here for. Now is there anyone else that has a question for me?This time around people were quicker to raise their hands into the air. Every single person in the class for the time being had a question for him. To which he just surveyed the area for a few seconds before pointing towards someone in the back of the class. Pointing directly at a much taller man to be exact.CALVIN HARRIS: Ryan, what’s your question?RYAN: I’ve been hearing this a lot lately and I am wondering what exactly it is. And if it is a thing, what your entire take on it is. A few people I have been in the locker room with a few guys over the first couple shows I’ve been part of. It’s generally older veterans going on about burying people in the ring, or burying people on a mic.CALVIN HARRIS: I was wondering when this question was going to come up. The big ol’ debate on burying people in the wrestling business. One of the funniest yet stupidest things I have ever heard, but go on.RYAN: Well like I said I’m just wondering if it’s a thing and if you’ve got a certain take on it. Last thing I want to do is upset a veteran of the locker room.CALVIN HARRIS: And you’re smart for that. That comment alone puts you ahead of a lot of these idiots that exist in wrestling today. All these younger kids and I do mean younger than me. Coming in and not giving a shit. Pissing and shitting all over the road that veterans have paved for them. However when it comes to this idea of burying someone. Like I said it is the funniest, yet stupidest thing I have ever heard. It’s also something I hear just about every week from Jack Nomad or Johnny Raike.Again he shook his head in clear disappointment and annoyance. The students might as well embraced themselves because there was going to be a lot of that with the questions that came up.CALVIN HARRIS: Personally, I don’t think the whole bury thing is something that even exists. Furthermore than that I think when people like Raike, Nomad, and even the veterans you talk about bring it up it’s a bunch of bullshit. From my own experience of dealing with the two guys I just named. I have learned that they start crying and bitching about getting buried when they expect someone to quote unquote sell them. More or less they think it’s my job to put them up on this pedestal. Talk about all the great things they’ve done. Talk about how accomplished they are. Talk about how good they are between the ropes. Thing is in that case neither one of them are that great. Nomad has never accomplished anything. He’s a nobody, so why would I go out of my way to make him seem better than what he is? And when it comes to Raike. He’s just a pussy. He was a two time Titan of the Midway Champion. Because I let him have one of the reigns and the other I got fucked over in by management. Not to mention he’s only at the top of the rankings in PAW because of how long he’s been around. A seniority rule which is bogus as fuck.RYAN: You really don’t like those guys do you?CALVIN HARRIS: It should be pretty obvious at this point. Not only do I not like them, but I don’t respect them by any means. When they start bitching about being buried it just comes down to the fact they expect someone to kiss their ass and I’m not going to be an ass kisser. Nor do I expect any of you to ever be an ass kisser. Therefore my suggestion to you, Ryan is if you ever hear anyone bitching about that. If you ever hear someone complain that you’ve buried them. Tell them to put a tampon in their vagina because bleeding out like a bitch is not accepted in this business... Course no offense to any of the ladies standing here today.RYAN: I’ll do my best sir. I truly hope I never have to encounter something like that. It sounds like people you deal with just make it out to be a major pain in the ass.CALVIN HARRIS: Everywhere you go you’re going to have to deal with a pain in the ass. You don’t escape that in resulting, but it’s how you deal with it that sets you out from everyone else. I’ve just been known to smack the fuck out of people being that stupid. But let’s move on. Does anyone else have a question for me?Sure enough every single hand of everyone in the room of wrestling students in the air. Clearly they had been listening and soaking in the knowledge that he was giving. The one thing that he wanted the most was for them to get something out of him when it comes to different aspects of the business. Pointing out in front of him, Calvin spoke up.CALVIN HARRIS: Maxine, what’s your question?MAXINE: You know that I’ve recently worked my first couple of wrestling shows. Course, I want to continue to perfect my craft and that’s why I continue to go to training.CALVIN HARRIS: Which proves that you’re ahead of many others in this business. Far too many think the moment they start working shows that they don’t have to go to training anymore.MAXINE: I’ve seen a couple of people like that. Some of which shouldn’t even be wrestling at all yet, but don’t go to training anymore. That’s neither here nor there though. My question has to deal with how do you deal with criticism? This past weekend, I had a woman go off on me in the locker room. Rip apart my match. Rip apart everything I had done. Bagged on me for how horrible this was and that was. Not to mention was really putting herself over on how great she is and how much better she was than me. I didn’t say anything, but for the future how does one deal with that?CALVIN HARRIS: Let me start off by saying this. Anyone can criticize, condemn, and complain. As a matter of fact most foolish people do.He watched as Maxine nodded her head a tad bit from his comment.CALVIN HARRIS: Honestly, you did best thing for yourself at that time by not saying anything. If you had said something, it’d turned into a bigger deal than what it needed to be. Promoters and what not would have gotten involved. It’d just been a mess. However for next time. I challenge you to do what I’d do. Talk to the promoter and ask for a match against that person.MAXINE: Why would I do something like that?CALVIN HARRIS: Why wouldn’t you? Obviously this woman questioned your ability and ripped your apart. Therefore next time you should have challenged her to put her money where her mouth is. Challenge her to prove that she’s better than you. Challenge her and find out if she’s as good as she was preaching or if she’s full of bullshit. That would have been best. Simply put if no one is going to believe in you, at least believe in yourself.MAXINE: Does it really work like that?CALVIN HARRIS: If you believe in yourself and you know you’re better than someone. Then it’ll work out the way you want. Believe me I’ve had my fair share of people over the last several years tell me that they are better than me. Tell me I didn’t belong in the ring. Tell me I was a disgrace to this business. Hell, Jack Nomad told me that he was better than me and that he was just as good as Pure Amusement Wrestling’s Heavyweight Champion. Granted to say he’s as good as the champion when he’s done nothing. I think he’s smoking dope, but at the same time I didn’t get bent out of shape when he said he was better than me. Because I know how good I am and because I know on September fifteenth I’m going to expose him in front of the world.MAXINE: I guess I just look at it like it’s a situation that could get me heat. Then again what if the person won’t actually take the match. Isn’t that just a major waste of time?CALVIN HARRIS: Well it could be taken as a major waste of time, or you can look at it the same way I do. If you call someone out and give them a platform to prove themselves only for them to not take it. Then that proves everything you need to know. The person is full of shit.To some people Calvin’s advice to the class was a good way to get a lot of the students heat with the wrong people when they did start wrestling. Then again to others he was giving them the advice they needed. Because in this business people didn’t have balls or even a spine anymore. CALVIN HARRIS: Tell you what since there’s people challenging your skill set. Why doesn’t everyone go ahead and get stretched out? We’ll start getting to the in ring stuff here in a few minutes. On that note the students started to expand outward around the ring to begin their formal stretches. Being in the ring with Calvin was no joke as they got pushed to their limits. They wanted to make sure they were more than ready. Calvin started to walk away to stretch himself out a bit which prompted the men with cameras to follow him still very much recording. Both of them could be heard from behind the cameras speaking to the Martyr. CAMERA MAN #1: Wow... that was some great stuff.CAMERA MAN #2: Way to go about cutting a promo on Nomad in a unique way!CAMERA MAN #1: People at the office are going to eat that up.CALVIN HARRIS: Promo? CAMERA MAN #2: Yeah, isn’t that what you did out there?CALVIN HARRIS: Not at all. What I did was just offer a group of students the best advice I could give based off my own experiences and my own knowledge.CAMERA MAN #1: Then what was the point of constantly bringing up Jack? I thought that was all for the cameras.CALVIN HARRIS: Well, it sounds like you’re very much like Jack then. You’re a fucking idiot... None of this was for show, for the cameras, or even for a promo. I legitimately don’t fucking like Jack. Therefore I am going to always speak the truth about him. Now get the cameras out of my face.He took his palm and covered one of the camera lenses pushing backwards. Both camera men did what was requested of them after all they were technically on his time. They turned the cameras off and began to walk away, but at the same time the impression had been left. Sometimes what is meant to be a “business” situation turns very-very personal and when it turns personal there’s no going back. Sounds like Jack Nomad was in for a lesson like these kids. A lesson that gives you a very rude welcoming to the business.
“AGAINST BETTER JUDGMENT” Flashback July 7th, 2016 Hotel Camera: Off The night had been a complete train wreck. Well that’s how Calvin Harris would have looked at it. Two weeks ago he was on top of the world. His alliance with Jack Nomad and Alexandra Kelly was something that was shocking. Not a single person saw it coming. It gave him the advantage and the upper hand on Press. Things were going his way, but then here we were two weeks later and it seemed everything had fallen apart. Alexandra had gone and quit the company, because she couldn’t stand the fact she was second rate to Nova. Nomad wasn’t around when he was needed for he was too busy chasing creatures named shadow that didn’t exactly exist. To which left Calvin in a prone position where Press took advantage of it and decided to hit the Press Release Powerbomb off the stage. Nearly crippling the Martyr but thankfully Calvin was a lot tougher than many have expected.
He and Nova had made it back to the hotel for the night. Which was something he was thankful for. Considering the amount of pain he was in right now. There was just no way that he would have been able to sit on an airplane for several hours. After finishing his shower, Calvin opened the bathroom door and came limping out. His right hand on his lower back while he was slightly hunched over. No joke he looked like an old man with a bad hip problem. Only a couple of steps over towards the bed and he could hear the sarcastic humor of Nova.NOVA WONDER: I think it’s time for a new model babe. You’re getting old as hell and before I know it. You’re not even going to be able to get it up anymore. That’s going to be a severe problem for me.By the nasty look he had given her the moment that his eyes shot in her direction. That look alone should have made it more than clear he was in no means in a good mood to be dealing with her or her jokes. Reaching out for the bed with his hand, he slowly eased himself down.CALVIN HARRIS: I’m not really in the mood tonight.NOVA WONDER: See what I mean? Not in the mood, because you can’t get it up. This is going downhill fast. I can’t be dating an old man, Calvin.CALVIN HARRIS: Would you shut the fuck up already? At the drop of a dime he had snapped on her just as he was settling himself down on the bed. The sharp pain that was shooting up his spine was no joke. Calvin had experienced a lot of things in life. Hell, the man had survived a car accident once. Yet for some reason this had been more pain he had ever experienced in his face. He was struggling to move himself up the bed to get in a comfortable position. All while Nova just had this expression on her face that said it all. By no means was she happy with the way he had snapped on her.NOVA WONDER: Do you intend on apologizing?CALVIN HARRIS: Apologizing? For what?NOVA WONDER: Are you kidding me right now?CALVIN HARRIS: What the fuck did I do? Huh?!NOVA WONDER: Talk to me like I’m a fucking worthless human being for one.She pushed herself off the side of the bed she had been sitting on. Her arms folded across her chest and she did her best to make herself stand with an attitude despite her being so tiny. Because someone at five foot two just wasn’t going to be very immediating by any means.CALVIN HARRIS: In the interest of fairness I am in a lot of pain and instead of helping me out. You’d rather make fucking jokes about the situation. Allow me to remind you, you are technically part of the reason I’m in this state!NOVA WONDER: Excuse you?! How am I even involved with anything that happened to you out there tonight?! Didn’t you choose two people - who were worthless from the start mind you - to have your back and to make sure shit like this didn’t happen?!CALVIN HARRIS: And that’s how you’re at fault. You’ve been too busy with taking out Alexandra when she doesn’t purpose a threat or hold a candle to you. Which in return got her all tied up in it, and prevented her from having my back. On top of that she fucking quit.NOVA WONDER: You expect me to feel bad about that? I warned you from the start that she was a quitter. I warned you from the start that she wasn’t someone you wanted to associate yourself with. Never mind the fact I warned you that I wasn’t going to stop just because of some alliance you had going on. If anything Calvin, this is your own fault for not listening to me!By no means should it come to anyone’s surprise that the egos of Calvin and Nova often clashed. The two of them saw things differently and did things differently when it came to the wrestling aspect of things. That was a good reason for why the two of them proceeded to do their own thing in PAW and not as a unit. Calvin had his own comeback on the tip of his tongue until he heard a familiar BUZZ sound. Looking to the right of him where his iPhone sat on the bedside table. It was blinking letting him know he had some type of notification. He started to reach for it which didn’t settle too well with the misses.NOVA WONDER: Really Calvin? In the middle of a heated discussion?!He didn’t bother to engage in a response. Instead he picked up his cell phone and unlocked the screen. Right away he saw the name JACK NOMAD popping up. There was a slight roll of his eyes as there was a feeling in the pit of his gut that this wasn’t going to go over very well. Pressing his thumb against the iMessage tap to open up the text. Sure enough the first couple words just made Calvin roll his eyes even harder.CALVIN HARRIS: You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. If it isn’t one thing it’s another.NOVA WONDER: What now?CALVIN HARRIS: Oh nothing, I just got this baby back bitch named Jack texting me and telling me he’s done.NOVA WONDER: Done with what? Done with PAW? Because that isn’t a bad thing at all. Nor would it be a bad thing if he’d just be done with wrestling in general.CALVIN HARRIS: I could only imagine it means he’s done with the company. Likely has everything to do with Alexandra. For a guy that claims to be hardcore. He sure does seem like an emotional bitch when it comes to things not going his way.By now Calvin’s fingers were working quickly against the screen of his iPhone typing out a message in response. Truth be told it wouldn’t have bothered him if Jack left the company. Not like Calvin thought the world of him in the first place, but for the sake of keeping up the “two-faced” side to himself. He didn’t put it out there, instead he was the “tough advice” that Nomad needed. Hitting send and watching his message pop up.He put his phone down on his chest and turned his attention back to Nova. Hoping that the previous argument they were going through was over. He just didn’t have it in him to keep it going on this night. Not with how he felt physically.CALVIN HARRIS: Are we done with this pointless argument?NOVA WONDER: That depends. Are you done with pointless people like Jack? Alexandra quitting makes him want to quit. Clearly, they can’t function without being up each other’s asses. More importantly it proves that you can’t trust him or depend on him. You need to cut your losses. CALVIN HARRIS: It is cutting losses, if he’s quitting the company. Not longer something that I have to worry about. No sooner than those words came out of his mouth. Calvin felt the vibration of his phone sending waves through his chest where he had placed his phone. Picking it up and going to read the text message. His eyes kind of got big over whatever was sent as he started to chuckle out loud and in an annoying manner.CALVIN HARRIS: This motherfucker man. I swear!Nova’s nose scrunched up listening to his remarks, but she didn’t get a follow up which made her a little more confused. Instead he tapped against the screen of his phone for a couple of seconds. His response was short and sweet. Not to mention it was full of his sarcastic nature. Something that he didn’t expect Nomad to pick up on through a text. For the man wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box.Looking up from his phone and locking eyes on Nova. He nodded his head at her for a brief moment almost as if he it was a gesture of some kind for him to come over. To which she caught on, Nova walking back to her side of the bed and started to climb in it.CALVIN HARRIS: Look at this stupid shit.He turned his phone in her direction with Nova leaning over his shoulder. Her eyes scanning the screen of the phone briefly reading the text message he had just received.NOVA WONDER: It’s official. He’s dumber than that rat that he’s with.CALVIN HARRIS: Stuck? Fucking stuck? He carries himself to be more important than he actually is. I had a gut feeling this was going to happen. I wish Alexandra would have just listened to what I wanted in the first place.NOVA WONDER: Look how low she is to the ground. She couldn’t hear you even if you wanted her too.CALVIN HARRIS: And you’ve got a lot of room to talk, midget? The death glare that consumed her eyes right then and there was spine chilling. Thankfully, he felt his phone vibrate in his hand bringing his attention from Nova back to the phone. Soon he was shaking his head again.CALVIN HARRIS: He wants to find a replacement? Ha, after what happened tonight and he thinks adding a third person is going to save this alliance.NOVA WONDER: I am telling you, Calvin. Cut your losses, before this gets out of hand and bites you in the ass.CALVIN HARRIS: I know what I’m doing alright? His fingers had already went to work on his screen to type out his response. There was no reason, zero reason for them to add a third member. Tonight had proven that the alliance was a bad idea to begin with. He couldn’t count on Alexandra and he couldn’t count on Nomad. Why the hell would he put faith in someone else and put trust in Nomad again? It was a ludicrous idea. Hitting send after completing his response.Hopefully that was going to be more than enough to get through his thick skull. Last thing Calvin wanted to do was spend his night arguing with an idiot through a text message. Rolling over to place his phone back on the table but before he could do so. It was vibrating again. All he could think to himself is “This guy has nothing better to do at after 11 PM.” Calvin unlocked his phone to check the text message. That text message alone made Calvin want to rip his long jet black hair from his head. Nova had started to undress herself from bed when she looked over to see him tapping against the screen of his phone once again.NOVA WONDER: Jesus. He texts you more than I do.CALVIN HARRIS: He’s also more needy than you’ve ever been. Dude is straight up desperate to stay clung to my side.NOVA WONDER: Didn’t I tell you? CALVIN HARRIS: It makes zero sense. He left me high and dry out there. I’m basically crippled because he couldn’t keep his eyes on what mattered, but is desperate to hold onto my hand like a two year old.NOVA WONDER: Hey now, leave Miss VP out of this. She’s adorable and can hold onto your hand as much as she wants. At that point he had tuned her out for the time being. His fingers tapping against the screen to finish out the last couple of words that he was spelling before hitting send. This entire conversation between the two of them was getting old. It was like talking to someone that didn’t take no for an answer. Very much like speaking to a younger child. It was starting to give him a headache. Not to mention the amount of pain that he was in. All he wanted at this point was a night’s rest before getting up in the morning and going right back at it. His attention was directed to Nova as she finally crawled herself back in bed wearing essentially nothing and putting herself under the blanket.CALVIN HARRIS: Let’s hope he gets it after that.NOVA WONDER: Highly unlikely Calvin. People like that don’t have the brain capacity to understand simple things. I just hope you put your phone on silent. I don’t want to hear it go off all night long.CALVIN HARRIS: If that shit happened I’d be punching him in the face the next time I saw him.NOVA WONDER: Yeah, you’re going to punch someone in the face when you can barely stand up straight now to walk.CALVIN HARRIS: Fuck you, okay?NOVA WONDER: Not tonight, your back couldn’t handle it.Offering up that cheeky grin that only she could give. Nova promptly rolled herself over to get comfortable for the night and not giving him a chance to respond. Then like clockwork his hand vibrated letting it be known he had another text message. Bringing his phone up, he read the message from Jack Nomad. Again it was clear he wasn’t going to give up on the idea of them being in an alliance with one another. Sighing slightly because there was only one way to go about this.Sending that message left an unsettling feeling in the pit of his gut. Calvin knew that this was going against his better judgment. From the start he didn’t want anything to do with Jack. He didn’t see Jack as anyone that was of value. The best thing to do was to cut ties and just do his own thing. Yet in the back of his mind he knew that it was going to cause more of a headache than what it was worth. For now he’d be able to use Jack at least until he felt that it was no longer needed and he wouldn’t have to worry about a grown man crying in text messages. Putting his phone down on the bedside table before reaching up and shutting the lamp off. Calvin settled himself in for the night hoping when he awoke the pain shooting in his spine would be gone because there was going to be hell to pay the next time he saw Press.
“THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!” September 14th, 2016 Court Room Camera: On Twenty four hours from now and the second ever taping of ADDICTION would be going on at the Pure Arena. All kinds of people from the Purity, Louisiana area were excited. Something that was a given considered that this is where the entire Pure Amusement Wrestling franchise began. It started with small shows at the Pure Arena which eventually launched Wicked into being a show that went live on a wrestling network. Those small shows launched PAW into getting this United states wide hype that helped them begin to expand. Having ADDICTION take place solely at the Pure Arena was clearly a tribute to the original roots and a tribute to the fans that had helped the company become everything that it was.
With that event being right around the corner it was a given that the official camera crew of PAW was in the area. Which was a good indication as to why the cameras found themselves inside of what appeared to be an empty court room. A courtroom that many of the “hardcore” criminals of Purity, Louisiana had seen the inside of. Cameras circling around the room a little bit but found themselves quickly stopping when it became obvious the courtroom wasn’t as empty as originally thought. Sitting up at the stand right next to where a judge would normally be sitting was a man that the PAW Universe was familiar with. That being “The Martyr” himself, Calvin Harris. He sat there with his head on his hands almost like he was on trial before he began to speak out loud.“ Do you remember when you were a little kid and you did wrong? Only for Mom and Dad to find about it. What was your first instinct? What was the first thing your mind told you to do?” Briefly, he paused like he was given the soon-to-be viewers a chance to actually give an answer. Course knowing him the way that he was he wouldn’t have actually wanted to hear from them.“ Your brain told you that the best thing for you to do was lie. That’s exactly what you did. It didn’t matter if you knew that your parents had caught you red handed. Didn’t matter if they had concrete evidence of what you did. You still lied because you thought it was going to get you out of trouble. Hell, I’m man enough to admit that I did it when I was a kid too. Which in reality only made the punishment I got that much worse because I chose to lie to my father’s face.” To some it might have been hard to think about a time where he was a child. Where someone had authority over him, but it was indeed a fact of life. That being said Calvin began to slowly rise from the stand to a vertical base.“ Then there was one day when I was about eight years old and my father sat me down to have a conversation with me. I had done something wrong. Something stupid like steal cookies before dinner. He knew I did it, but this time when he sat me down. He gave me a piece of advice that I wouldn’t truly understand until I was older, yet I remember this conversation. Sat me down on the couch and told me. That the reason I continued to get myself in so much trouble. Wasn’t that I continued to do wrong, but it was because I wasn’t man enough to admit that I had done wrong. My punishments were only worse because I lied. I didn’t have the balls to admit to doing something because I was too afraid to get in trouble. As my father told me if I was man enough to do something that was wrong. I should have been mad enough to admit it.” Nodding his head just a tad bit while keeping those eyes of his locked on the camera. “ And then I remember him telling me. That the truth is something that will always set me free. People are going to respect me more when I tell the truth. People are going to be inclined to believe me more when I tell the truth. Not to mention telling the truth is going to keep me out of trouble. Sure, if I mess up. I’ll get what’s coming to me, but if I’m honest about it. It won’t be as bad... Clearly this conversation my father had with me is not the type of conversation Jack Nomad’s father had with him.” The mere mention of Nomad’s name was going to be enough to make some people cringe in fear. To others it would make this fiery rage for the man flare up. Yet for Calvin he didn’t have either one of those feelings towards a man he once had an alliance with.“ Course now that I’ve said that. We’ll get the whole “I never had a father” or the “My father was abusive to me, that’s why I am who I am” spiel. You know anything to add to that “damaged” character he’s got going on. However I’ve never looked at it as Nomad being damaged. I’ve just always looked at it as Nomad trying entire too hard. The way he carries himself reminds of the emo kids I used to pick on in high school. Simply put in my eyes since the day I saw Nomad walk into Pure Amusement Wrestling. I’ve considered him to be a little bitch. And that’s the god’s honest truth. Something that you clearly no nothing about Jack. Something that you run from. Something that you avoid. Something that you do your best to keep out on contact with as much as you can. For you are someone that cannot handle the truth.” Calvin had such a rage in his eyes when those words came out of his mouth. From there he pulled the side door open to the stand and started to step down from it. Making his way towards the actual front of the courtroom. The background behind him really seemed to have set the tone.“ You don’t have the balls to tell the PAW Universe the truth about who you are. You don’t the balls to tell them the truth about the type of things you’ve done. And I know for a fact that you don’t have the BALLS to tell the truth as to why our falling out happened. Sure, you’ll do whatever you can to keep up the WOE IS ME mentality. You’ll alluded to there was a backstage falling out. More than what was actually seen on Wicked Live. Yet push come to shove you won’t tell the truth to what happened. I on the other hand don’t have a problem telling the truth. I on the other hand don’t have a problem exposing you in front of your peers you want sympathy from. Nor do I have a problem exposing you to the PAW Universe. They don’t like you anymore than I do. So if anything this will be a treat for them.” That smirk of his started to grow a little more with pride. “ But before we can get to the juicy stuff about what happened between us. Let’s at the very beginning shall we? Let’s start with when you walked into this company several months ago. The moment that everyone found out that Alexandra Kelly was coming to Pure Amusement Wrestling. Nearly every single person in this company was on her clit. They were so pumped. So excited. They were putting her over like she was the greatest thing to ever come to PAW. She had some all this hype to her. And then when she came to the company. It turns out she didn’t come alone. You came along with her. Something that no one cared about. Something that no one was impressed with. Well the TRUTH is everyone just saw you as someone that was in her shadow. The TRUTH was no saw you as anything special. The TRUTH is no one saw you having a purpose on the PAW roster. They cared about her more than they cared about you and rightfully so. Even after Alexandra folded under the pressure. I’d still say she had more purpose here than you ever did.” Those remarks were bound to rub Nomad the wrong way. Maybe not an extreme amount, but it was going to be enough to get a reaction out of him.“ Like I said no one saw you having a purpose. In fact the TRUTH in all this is Jack, you were the only one that believed your own hype. Sure, myself and Alexandra might have fed your ego when we felt like we had to. Yet in all actuality that wasn’t how we felt. We felt the same way that everyone else felt. You’re just a really big dude, with really limited skills. Which is what brings me to the next point when it comes to the TRUTH when it comes to you. I mean it seems rather obvious that on your own you don’t really stand a chance. On your own you don’t really make an impact. On your own no one pays attention to you. For crying out loud Jack, you haven’t had ONE MOMENT in your time here in which it was truly something you did on your own! All of your big moments came from riding the coattails of Alexandra. Riding my coattails, even riding the coattails of Cross as irrelevant as his time was in being connected to us. And now you’re off riding the coattails of Mercy & Sin, which is even more pathetic considering they aren’t much better off than you are!” Each word that came out of Calvin’s mouth made it appear like he was a gun that had finally been unloaded. It was shot after shot being fired aiming right for the ego of Jack Nomad. Sure, Calvin might not have been liked. Something he embraced, but by the end of this he was going to see to it that the PAW Universe knew exactly who Jack Nomad truly was under it all.“ What amuses me is how you’re going to have the balls to tell people that you never wanted to be part of the whole alliance that consisted of you, myself, and Alexandra in the first place. You’ll make it seem like you were bullied into it. You’ll make it seem like you were forced into it. You’ll make it seem like you didn’t have a choice, but the in reality Nomad. You always had a choice. Not once did Myself or Alexandra hold a gun to your head. No one made you be part of that alliance. In fact I never wanted you apart of it. I didn’t see you as having any value obviously, but I did Alexandra a favor. She made it seem like if you didn’t get a chance to tag along. You’d be all upset and have a pity party. I did her a solid, which in return did you a solid. Course I turned out to be right in the end. You didn’t provide any actual value to the vision I had. Lesson learned on my part. Matter of fact the whole lesson learned thing should be something that sounds pretty familiar isn’t it? Remember when I told you it was a lesson learned when Alexandra left. You were so emotional about it. I could only imagine you were close to being in tears. Yet the TRUTH in what lead to her leaving is when you decided to dump her. You didn’t it in the middle of the night. You just up and left. You didn’t have the balls to tell her. Instead you went behind her back, which is kind of a trademark of yours but we’ll get to that soon.” His lips curved up into this evil like smirk while he gave the cameras a small little wink. That was more than enough to foreshadow something big that was coming real soon.“ But back to the point when she left even though it was your fault. You were upset over it. You were up in arms over it. You wanted to figure out what we were going to do. To which the TRUTH to it all is I gave you the option to leave. I told you we could go our own way. I told you I didn’t give a fuck. I was fine with doing our own thing, something that wasn’t good enough for you. Because you said it “didn’t make sense” and how we couldn’t just pretend the whole group wasn’t a thing. Basically for someone that didn’t want to be part of the group to begin with. You fought pretty hard to stay by my side. You held on to me tighter than my near three year old does. Thing is I actually like her, I fucking hate you. But either way I gave in, that’s when the idea of Cross joining came about. Something I didn’t want to do. I didn’t think he was a valuable asset. Very much like you, but for the greater good of my vision. I was all for it... Only for Cross to let us down by his piss poor performance at Bad Moon Rising. To which the TRUTH of the matter is. You and I both agreed that he had to go. After that, he didn’t deserve to be part of what we were trying to do. Yet at the same time Jack, I once again gave you an out and that’s where things truly get interesting pal.” That devious smirk on Calvin’s lips quickly faded for a more serious look in his eyes. Seeing those eyes were going to let people know that things getting “interesting” was a rather serious situation. After all he had been preaching about the truth. Made it seem like there was so much more about to come out. Something that might change the landscape of Pure Amusement Wrestling.“ Now before you try to bash me for it. I’ll openly admit that I considered quitting PAW after I lost the Heavyweight Championship match. I had grounds to do so. In my heart of hearts I feel like I got screwed and I wasn’t going to stand for it. Course after a few days I leveled out and after those few days is when we had a conversation about what was to happen next. We agreed that the next time we saw Cross. Together, we were going to make him pay for letting us down. But like I said in that same discussion I told you, if you wanted to be done with the alliance we could be done. We could shake hands after Cross’s blood was on them. You’d go your way. I’d go my way. No hard feelings. Then brought on the begging, then brought on the pleading, and then brought on the bitch made shit where you didn’t want to cut ties. You basically made it clear you needed me a whole hell of a lot more than I needed you. Yet even with that being the case. I was a moron. I once again went against my better judgement. I gave you another chance. I even agreed to let Mercy and Sin join us, but in doing so. All along you were plotting against me. You were had intentions of double crossing me. You thought it was all going to work out in your favor, but then the TRUTH hit you in the face hard as hell as you found out I’m the wrong person to fuck with.” His tone of voice was changing a little as well. Made it seem like he was rather irritated and rather fed up with the situation at hand.“ What everyone saw that night where the two of us went face to face before security split us up was NOT meant to happen. Let’s just call wrestling what it is for a change shall we? It’s a fucking work and on that night what the fans got was NOT in the script. And why is that Jack? Why did things not go according to plan? Hmmm... well it’s simple. On that night before the show. You decided to go into business for yourself. You tried to make my vision all about you. You tried to work where you were just going to downgrade me in front of everyone. You tried to work it where you were going to talk down to me like I was beneath you. Simply put you tried to make yourself look really-really strong. None of which you discussed with me, so when it got back to me before the show. All hell broke loose and it wasn’t long before we were at each other’s throats. Which then in return let it be a situation where management had to do damage control and had to do what was best for their show. All because the TRUTH of the matter is you didn’t have the balls and you tried to screw me behind my back. But look where that’s landed you, Jack. Look at the situation you’re in now!” Surely that was bound to be a bit of a shock. He stood a man that essentially exposed the wrestling business and exposed Jack Nomad. People didn’t already like him, but this was going to give them another reason to dislike him. Something that wouldn’t have anything to do with wrestling or his abilities. Instead it would make people hate him for being a worthless human being. His eyes remained zeroed in on the cameras.“ Your bullshit has lead to you having a match with me. You know what? Scratch that. You aren’t having a match with me. You’ve got yourself in a fight with me. A fight that you cannot win. You might be bigger than I am, but you certainly aren’t badder than I am. And I know that you don’t have the balls to actually defend your actions. If anything Jack, you’re going to do what you’ve been doing. Crying about how I’ve made this personal and how I’m out to bury you. Lying about what took place and saying I’m the one that turned my back on you. You’ll keep having people stalk my twitter account or you’ll keep making up fake accounts just to see what I have to say. Not a single bit of you is finally going to man up, admit to what you did, and take the ass kicking that’s coming your way. Yet for some reason the one thing you keep forgetting about is that you don’t have a choice.” Cameras focused on the rage that seemed to be building in his eyes with each word that he let escape his mouth. This was a fired up version of the Martyr. A fired up Calvin was not only a bitter Calvin, but a better one as well.“ The moment that we are in the ring with each other on Addiction. There’s nowhere to run. There’s nowhere to hide. There’s nowhere for you to escape to. I know that’s a frightening situation. After all this is the first time you’ve truly had to fight someone that was worth a damn. It isn’t like Bad Moon Rising where you were just HANDED a win... Oops, I wasn’t meant to bring that up right? Ah well who cares if we’re being honest right?” He could be seen shrugging his shoulders in a nonchalant manner. “ Point I am getting at is I understand that this is a scary situation for you. I understand that is a frightening situation. You’ve finally been put in a position where you’re actually competing for something you claim you deserve. You’re competing for a chance to get a shot at the PAW Heavyweight Championship. Essentially all your wildest dreams are coming true. It should be a moment of rejoice for you, but instead it’s a moment where piss is running down your leg out of fear because you’re against me. You are realizing that being against me is the worst thing that could ever happen to you here in PAW. Not only because of you double crossing me, not only because it means you are certainly not getting a shot at the title, but because you know that facing me basically means the end of your career in this company. The moment I spike your head into the mat and you’re left to look at the bright lights as I pin you. You’ll know right then and there it’s over. All the hype you’ve comes to an end. All the things that have come out of your mouth will be proven to be bullshit. All the claims you’ve made will blow up in your face. It’s just that simple. The moment I beat you, your career is done here, and I go on to get what rightfully belongs to me.” There was an arrogance about him when he made that statement. Not that it should have came as a surprise to anyone. Calvin was someone that firmly believed in himself because no one else would and in believing in himself. Most of the time he got the job done. Because of that it was a matter of Jack Nomad truly needing to wonder if his career was going to be over in the end.“ Now that the truth has been put out in the open, Jack. You can be set free. You don’t have to keep it all bottled up inside and you don’t have to continue to hide from the worthless human being that you are. As a matter of fact Jack, now that the truth is out there and the moment that I defeat you at Addiction. You can do what you’ve been planning to do for months. You can quit, you can take your talents elsewhere, and be a pain in the ass to another promotion. It’s the best option for you... because if you stay after I embarrass you. I’ll make it my personal mission to continue to make your life hell until you quit. Don’t do that to yourself, just leave when you have the option. Smarten up for once.” Calvin found himself letting a small nod fall from his head. Only for him to turn his back to the cameras almost as if he was about to make his way out of the courtroom. Yet before he could even take a step, he stopped and turned himself right back around locking his eyes on the lense.“ Oh yeah one last thing... FUCK YOU NOMAD!” In those words escaping his lips the Martyr proceeded to hold up the middle finger on not just one hand, but both hands. Those words and those actions alone sent the final message that needed to be delivered. It drilled the final nail in the coffin so to speak. For a couple of seconds the cameras remained on that gesture from Calvin before finally fading to black. Now the PAW Universe was left to make a decision. Would they believe a man that they have come to hate? Would their views change now that he seemingly exposed the truth? Would they stand behind him when he main evented Addiction? Or would they go with the easy option of supporting Jack Nomad? That would be seen come Thursday Night, but at the same time it was a given no matter what choice they made. Nothing as well as no one would stop the Martyr from the destruction path that he was on.
