Hotel Monteleone, 214 Royal St, New Orleans
August 10th, 2016
"Do you have a reservation sir?"
A tall man in a suit, who is the host of Hotel Monteleone's bar, looks rather baffled by Roscar's presence. He can't really understand what a man like Roscar wants to do in the bar of an expensive hotel like this. He's wearing an Iron-Maiden t-shirt and jeans. He can't tell if Roscar can even afford that place.
Roscar: "Yeah, I have a meeting here with someone named Wilson Fisk... Is he here?"
The host now is astonished that Roscar even knows such a wealthy man like Wilson Fisk. He says a little faltering:
Host: "Oh yeah, he told us, that he is waiting for someone. Follow me, sir!"
The host starts walking towards Wilson Fisk's table and nods to Roscar to follow him.
Roscar: "Dude, don't call me sir. I'm not a sir. So don't... just don't."
The host looks with disapproval at Roscar, but he doesn't care. Even though, he has seen the man looking at him as an inferior and he can easily break that idiot's nose with a single punch, he remains calm. He's not angry. You can say that he is enjoying it. Roscar has been used to be treated like a peasant, but he feels sorry for all these conceited people, who think that they are superior to him, just because they have money. Also, that arrogant host is just an employee there. He's not a millionaire, he just works at a fancy bar. The man accompanies Roscar to Wilson and then walks away.
Wilson Fisk: "Roscar! You're here! I knew that you are a wise man."
Roscar laughs with Wilson's last comment.
Roscar: "Wise? Really? I'm not a wise man. I never was. You could easily say the opposite. I've made a ton of stupid choices in my life and I hope this isn't the biggest one."
Wilson smiles and pats Roscar on his back.
Wilson: "Don't worry! If you really want to be a true champion, you made the BEST choice of your life. Do you want anything to drink? It's on me!"
Roscar: "I don't believe I say this, but no. I have to go to gym after this meeting, so can we get to the point? Time is not on my side."
Wilson nods to a waiter and he quickly turns away and gets to the barman.
Wilson: "You're right! Let's not waste our precious time."
The waiter arrives holding a red folder with Roscar's name written on it. He gives it to Wilson and he gets a 50-dollar-bill and gives it to the waiter. The waiter thanks him and walks away.
Wilson: "So that's the contract I'm offering you. It's a full-time contract for 2 years. Here, take a look at it."
Wilson opens the red folder, as he's speaking and then hands the contract, which is inside the folder, to Roscar. He takes it and starts reading it.
Wilson: "For the first 4 months, starting right after Bad Moon Rising, I am going to PAY you. Yeah, you will get a salary of TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS every month."
Roscar looks amazed to Wilson. He can't believe the amount of money he's going to get.
Roscar: "Two grand? For real? Fuck me! That's a lot of money man!"
Wilson: "I know! This is an investment I am doing. I believe in you and your skills and I KNOW, that with proper training and guidance you can be transformed into a wrestler, who will have impact on pro wrestling world. A man, who will make me richer, than I already am. This contract doesn't only include the salary. I'm going to pay for one of the best pro wrestling trainers in this state to train you in a state of the art gym."
After a thoughtful moment of silence, Roscar says:
Roscar: "All these things sound great, but what's in it for you? I don't think, that you'll just pay me for the first months."
Wilson : "You are totally right. I just want 20% of your earnings from PAW, or any other promotion where you will appear and of course the same goes for the money earned from sponsorships and advertisements. That's all. It's not such a big deal. So, what do you think about it?"
Roscar is stroking his beard, as he is thinking about Wilson's proposal. Suddenly, he grabs a pen and signs the contract. Then, he gets up and says:
Roscar: "Alright, that's it! Now, I should be on my way to the gym."
Wilson stares confused at Roscar.
Wilson: "You're not going to show this to your lawyer? You just signed it."
Roscar: "No! I don't like lawyers. Are we good?"
Wilson stands up and shakes hands with Roscar. He has a satisfied smirk on his face.
Wilson: "Of course! This is the beginning of a new era for you. Are you ready?"
They look at each other pleased with the outcome of their meeting.
Roscar: "You bet I am!"
