DOUBLE TAP Summer was starting to fade out for the fall season. Temperatures were starting to drop and there was a light breeze in the air. That much was apparent due to the tree leaves swaying back and forth. This was a very relaxing scenery of the woods. A place that people wouldn’t mind going camping to escape from the realities of their life. A place where wildlife roamed freely and reproduced their next generation do the same thing. A place where nothing and no one should have any type of fear.BANGGGGGGG! The sound of a loaded shotgun had went off. From the sheer panic and fear of the sound, birds could be heard chirping out of fright as they flew out of trees and through the sky heading for safety. Off in the distance what sounded like footsteps could be heard hitting the ground hard. Surely it was anything but footsteps. However more likely other animals of the four legged kind headed off for safety after hearing such a terrifying sound. In just one moment the peacefulness of the scenery had gone away. Then just like that it seemed like everything had gone back to the way it was. The light breeze in the air and not a sound to be heard. Something that didn’t seem to last very long. For a very defining voice could be heard speaking out.“You hear about this subject all the time. No matter what part of the world this subject comes up quite often. Just so happens that the United States of America and it’s citizens are little more obsessed with it than other parts of the world.”Two things were given right away by the sound of that voice. First whomever it was had a very strong accent. It was a dead give away that the male speaking was certainly not from the United States. And secondly the thing that was picked up on was the fact that this was a voice that had been heard before. Thing was there had never been a face to match with the voice, much like there wasn’t at this particular moment.“About three fourths of the population in America have come to believe that at some point or another there’s going to be a Zombie Apocalypse. You heard me correctly. I did say the Zombie Apocalypse. People in America believe that either there’s going to be some type of disease that infects one single person. In infecting that person it’s going to make them hungry for human flesh, leading to them biting another person, and when the bite takes place. It’s going to spread the virus to the next person. So on and so forth until Zombies just take over the world. They either believe that or they believe the original story in which Zombies come from. Where something is going to force their loved ones that have passed on to rise from the dead and terrorize the earth.”The anticipation was continuing to grow with every word that came out of this man’s mouth. With scenery focused on this wooded area it was a given that the person was nearby. It was a given that he had to have shown his face, but at this point that was not the case. Keeping one on the edge of their seat.“For those who believe that there is a virus that is going to turn people into zombies. There is no such thing. Sure there are some wicked viruses out there, but nothing that will ever cause that type of effect. For those who believe that the dead is one day going to rise. I suggest that you stop watching horror films. Walking Dead is just a TV show and as crazy as it is for someone to take Bath Salts are that doesn’t turn you into a zombie. As a matter of fact it is time for you people to see Zombies for what they really are. They are a FICTIONAL CHARACTERS that were created from someone’s imagination for the sake of a good story, a good movie, or a good book. Which also means the quote unquote Zombie roaming around Pure Amusement Wrestling is a fictional. He’s just man claiming to be a Zombie.”Mentioning that name seemed to force it to echo throughout the wooded forest that was the main focal point of the cameras.“I guess it is fair to give him some credit. At least he isn’t parading himself to be a dead person that has risen. He doesn’t claim to be infected with some virus. He isn’t going that far, but he does go far enough. Far enough to carry himself as if he’s some type of immortal that can’t be taken down by a man. Far enough that he’s bitten people in the ring. Giving the illusion that he’s aiming to take a chunk out of them. Going far enough to carry himself as a force of some type between those ropes because of the “strong style” and the “japanese style” that he wrestles with. Don’t get me wrong. I know all about the Japanese style.
I know all about the strong style. I have spent many years myself in the Dojos of Japan learning my craft. I know for a fact that style isn’t for everyone in this business. You might be able to rough some people up with that style Aokigahara, but it does not make you invincible. It does not make you indestructible. The style doesn’t make you immortal. The style simply does not make you some type of Zombie by any means. All it tells me is that you are a student of the game when it comes to wrestling. You have love, honor, and respect for the business. It tells me that you’re good between the ropes, but anyone could be good. Yet there’s always someone that is better.”Those words seemed to echo throughout the wooded forest that remained the focal point of the cameras. The way those words came off though made it sound like this mysterious figure questioned everything about Aokigahara Zombie. Not only did he question everything about him, but it seemed as if he was in a roundabout way doubted everything about the man.“That someone better is lurking in the shadows Aokigahara. That someone better is waiting for the opportunity to prove himself. That someone better is looking to expose you in front of the world. That someone just very much could end up being me. And more than anything the reason why it would be me is because I’ve got you all figured out. You might think I don’t know what I’m talking about. You might lump me in with everyone else that exists on the Pure Amusement Wrestling roster. I assure you that’s a big mistake, but the point I am trying to make is I’ve figured out what motivates you, Aokigahara.
I have made the true connection for this entire zombie thing that you carry yourself. You are driven by fear. You have this misconception that if you can get people to fear you then you’ve gotten yourself the upper-hand. And what better way to strike that fear into people by mentioning zombie. When you know the majority of the United States in a panic over a possible Zombie Apocalypse. Bravo on your end for playing into the psych of the people, but again I am not like most of those people. I was able to pick up on your motive just like that. In doing so you now find yourself in a very difficult situation. Because I’m coming to Addiction and I don’t fear you.”The tone being used now had some base to it. Oozed with some confidence ranging out of him. This mystery of who he was and continuing to keep it hidden was surely becoming too much for viewers to handle.“Why should I fear you, just because you want to make up something about who you are? Why should I fear you, just because of your background? Why should I fear you, just because you think that people should? In all honestly Aokigahara it is hard to fear a man that’s not done anything to begin with. You’re one victory, if you want to call it that over CJ O’Donnell certainly isn’t enough to make me or anyone else see you in the light that you are seemingly expecting. Especially not when you find yourself taking loss after loss. By no means am I trying to be disrespectful when I say this, but you more or less just shit the bed when a shot at competing for the PAW Heavyweight Championship.
Losses pile up and losses do affect your credibility in this business. Losses do whether people want to believe it or not, make or break you in this business. From what I can tell Aokigahara. Your career here in Pure Amusement Wrestling is slowly but surely going down the drain. It’s on this downward spiral and you can’t control it. You can’t find a way to turn it all around. Which puts you in a really bad position to begin with seeing as I am a man that is mystery. I am a man that no one knows what I am capable of. I am a man that has control of myself and control that I intend to use to my advantage. Let that sink in for the moment.”Like it had been all this time those words echoed throughout this forest that remained the primary focus. Those words continuing to leave this impression that the man speaking from out of sight carried himself as if he was better than Aokigahara. One would have to wonder just exactly how that was going to end up being taken.“The only advice that I can give to you, Aokigahara is wake yourself up. Stop pretending to be something that you are not. Stop trying to strike fear into people. In general just stop lying and stop hiding from who you truly are. People are going to respect you a whole lot more when you’re honest and open with who you are compared to making up everything or trying to be something you aren’t. But at the same time if I were you, I’d start doing the research on me. Because before long Addiction is going to be here. I might have that mystery to me. I might plan to use that to my advantage, but you can still do your research.
You can still make sure that you go into this match with the right mindset. For the last thing you want to do is doubt a man that is a warrior. You do not want to doubt a man that is a fighter. You do not want to doubt someone who has given his life to this business. Doubting me, questioning me, and acting as if I am nothing is going to set something off deep inside me. It’ll make me turn into the one person you never want to encounter. There is a very deadly person that lives inside me.
As a matter of fact Aokigahara as someone that grew up in Japan. As someone that has trained in Japan. As someone who has been to Japan. I am sure that you’ve heard of many stories involving the Akuma. More or less the Japanese Demon. One of the most dangerous creatures to ever exist. Not to mention a creature that very much is real, unlike a Zombie. And when I tell you that I know that Akuma lives within me. That is something that you as well as everyone else should take seriously. I have no reason to lie. I’ve got no reason to be a fraud. I’ve seen what I’m capable of when that comes out in me. You nor anyone else wants to be on the receiving of that.”All the sudden there was a flip of the camera angle. With that sudden flip the cameras found themselves focusing down the barrel of what appeared to be a shotgun. Quite possibly the same shotgun that had been heard that sent the animals scurrying away. Maybe what was more terrifying that looking down the barrel of a shotgun was the person holding it. It was a man decked out in face and body paint. Only resembling the colors of white, red, and black. Suddenly the man spoke and that accent that the viewers had been hearing was the same.“But if you don’t want to believe me. Then when the arrival of SHIZUKA happens and I give you a DOUBLE TAP to the dome that puts you down for good. You’ll have no one to blame but yourself.”The focus was brought to the man's attention when his index finger looped itself around the trigger of the shotgun. Before anyone could really make the connection to what happened. That loud sound could be heard once again.BANGGGGGGGG! For a brief second there was ringing of the ears before everything seemed to come back to normal. Only to realize the shotgun blast hadn't done any damage to the camera or anyone holding it. However more importantly than that man that referred to himself as SHIZUKA had disappeared within the blink of an eye. Everything he said. Every comment he made. Every word was going to stick with those viewers as they found themselves waiting to see what happened with a Zombie and a Demon Warrior found themselves colliding for the first time in PAW history. It was a guarantee that just one of them had to go down.= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = THE NEXT CHAPTER IN LIFE In twenty four hours the man that had been calling himself SHIZUKA was set to debut on Addiction. For that to happen it involved him to take himself on a plane to Louisiana from the place he shared with his girlfriend in Canada. It was a good six hour flight which was pretty much most of the day. Bringing himself down the set of steps wearing nothing but an all black suit with the perfect silver tie to match. Keegan believed that you had to dress to impress. He believed in making good first impressions especially to those that had power. By no means was he a kiss ass, but he understood the business side of things better than some. He was a man that carried himself with respect and knew how to handle business. Yet at the same time the way he carried himself in the ring was something that was a tad bit different.
While making his way down those steps he carried two suitcases in each hand. One of those suitcases just happened to be heavier than the other and that much was apparent based on the way the slight shift within his weight as he walked down the steps. The suitcase with his gear in it was the one that was a little heavier than the other that just carried what he needed to survive for the next twenty four hours. There was a reason for why the bag was so heavy for there was quite a bit that went into him being who he was in the ring. Something that he was truly looking forward to showcasing. His feet finally came down from the steps as he was starting to head towards the front door of the massive home. He had let one suitcase go just to be able to reach for the door. His fingertips no sooner hit it and he had her a voice from behind him.“You’re not even going to say goodbye?”Spinning himself around himself around only for Keegan to lock eyes on his girlfriend. Julissa was one of those high maintence type of women. She liked having the finer things in life. She liked it when all eyes and all attention was on her. She was attractive and she didn’t let you forget about it. Even in yoga pants, a tight sports bra, her hair pulled up in a bun, and sweat glistening off her skin at this very moment. She still looked better than most women could ever dream of. She placed her bottle of water up to her lips taking a quick sip of it. Keegan had started to take a couple of steps towards her leaving his bags by the door.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: I thought you were doing your yoga, or whatever you call it.JULISSA ROBERTS: Do not mock my work out methods. Yoga keeps me limber and loose. Not to mention helps me be very flexible. Last time I checked that was something you enjoyed, love.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: I am not mocking at all. And you’re right I do enjoy your flexibility. His lips curved into a bit of a smirk. Julissa placed her hand on one of her thick hips and just looked up at him.JULISSA ROBERTS: Mhmm, that’s what I thought. Doesn’t change the fact that you thought you were going to just walk out that door, be gone for days at a time, and not even bother saying goodbye. My feelings are a little hurt right now.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: You? Feelings? I’m pretty sure you poorly put together that sentenced.Instantly her reaction was to reach out and slam her fist into his arm. Course she wasn’t going to do that much damage. The size difference between the two was pretty clear and even if Julissa was a woman that could pack a punch. It just wasn’t going to do the damage that she would have hoped. A slight glare consuming her expression.JULISSA ROBERTS: Jerk. The punch and the glare he got finally broke Keegan. He let out a deep chuckle and leaned forward pressing his lips against the middle of her forehead for a brief kiss.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: You’re adorable when you try to be a bad ass.JULISSA ROBERTS: And you’re adorable when you’re putting your tongue to use that doesn’t involve you talking. She shot back with a coy grin spreading across her lips.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: One of these days you’re going to appreciate me for who I am and not what I do behind closed doors.JULISSA ROBERTS: Hmmm, maybe you’re right. Maybe just maybe one day that will happen. But until that day comes I am just going to continue to remind you of the one thing I think you’re good at.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: Ah, well that’s also one thing you’re going to have to live without for a few days. At least until I get back.JULISSA ROBERTS: I know, and I think it’s rather selfish that you’d make your girlfriends needs wait.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: Really?A rather unamused expression quickly overtook Keegan’s expression. Julissa looked rather amused to say the least. Beaming with a big ol’ smile. Followed up by her own laugh as she pushed her hands against his chest and tried to take him off balance.JULISSA ROBERTS: Would you relax? It was a joke.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: One that I didn’t find that amusing.JULISSA ROBERTS: Good news is I wasn’t trying to make you laugh.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: Right, can I go now?JULISSA ROBERTS: Oh lighten up Keegz. Learn to take a joke for a change. She rolled her eyes a little annoyed with the attitude that he was displaying.JULISSA ROBERTS: Honestly Keegz, I am proud of you. In the eight months we have been together I have watched you travel to Japan. I’ve watched you travel back home. I’ve watched you compete at these disgusting bingo halls with toothless people using their welfare checks just to see you wrestle. I’ve watched you wrestle for little to no pay at all. It wasn’t right then and it isn’t right now. You’re far too talented for all of that. You deserve to be the center of attention. You deserve to be the champion of any company. This is why I am glad you’ve made the decision to go somewhere with a little notoriety. Granted, I would have chose somewhere else other than an amusement park. Your decision is your decision and I’ll stand by it as long as you become everything I know you can become. For a moment or two Keegan stood there in silence. The two of them were not very vocal about their feelings or how they felt about one another. In fact for the longest time it just felt like their connection was physical. Now here she stood before him expressing not only did she care for him but she cared for his career. That went a long way with him.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: Thank you. That means the world to me. Especially when I don't know where this next chapter in life is going to take me, but knowing that you're backing me up and that you believe in me just as much as I believe in myself goes a long way with me.JULISSA ROBERTS: Even if it doesn't get said very often, I do love you.KEEGAN SHIZUKA: And I love you too. That was seemingly all that needed to be said between the two. Keegan leaned forward once again, but this time he brought his lips to hers. Kissing with a bit of force and a bit of passion behind it. Julissa's arms quickly placed themselves around his neck and pulled him forward with a bit of a jolt to press her lips back against his. Like any other time the body temperature between the two rose based off one single kiss, but this time there wasn't any time for what usually followed. Keegan pulled himself back away from those full lips briefly staring into her eyes before turning himself around. He began to head towards the door. This was one of those times where goodbye seemed like it was going to be forever, but it certainly wasn't. Instead this was the very beginning of something unique.

A blonde woman in a plaid shirt and cut off shorts is walking down a dark and gloomy road by the swamps. She looks back in the hopes of an approaching car she can hitch a ride on but the road is dark and lonely. She walks along shaking her head at forgetting to put gas in her moped. This hipster life was just getting harder to live with. This was yet another path in the road of bad life choices. It would get a lot weirder as she sudden hears some rustling in the brush by the road and a groan. This champion of good decisions decides to run into the woods when she hears a shuffling of feet coming towards her.
The moonlight provides some light on her sloppy attempt of avoiding trees and large rocks. She stops for a second to catch her breath but the groaning is closer to her and whatever was behind her is running now. She takes a peek back and sees a dark silhouette of a large man holding what appears to be a bloody head looking around for something. For her!
She bolts deeper into the swamp and comes up to the edge of a small lake. The groaning is louder and closer now as she trips and falls behind a large rotting fallen tree. She closes her eyes as she hears the crumbling of twigs and leaves as the man gets closer. She hopes he misses her as his searching shuffling gets closer and closer. It finally stops and she opens her eyes only to see a dark face glaring at her. His eyes are dead and his face is covered in mud and grime. The smell is awful and she screams as he opens his gaping maw and grabs her by the shoulders to take a bite out of her neck.
The screaming dies down when he gets off her and she sees that he has a snake in his mouth. He grabs the other end of the snake and pulls tearing the head off. He spits it out and throws the snake’s body away. He coughs and gets a flask from his pocket and drinks from it before offering it to her. She just looks up at him with her knees to her chest, shaking. He coughs and takes another swig before crouching down next to her.
“More for me then. Listen we should get out of here and go back to the road.”
She nods in agreement not realizing what she agreed to and with whom. “Who the hell are you? You look like a monster. Why were you chasing me.”
“I’m just a guy out going back home from a day of fishing. I saw you on the road while on my way back to the car when you started running. My face looks like this ‘cause I fight for a living and smacking my forehead at you so much with my muddy hand aggravated some of my wounds. I was slapping my head and groaning due to watching you come right up to this spot. Right up to where the real monsters live.” He points at the lake.
She slowly looks over the fallen tree and focuses on what he’s pointing at. She sees three pairs of eyes just above the lake surface. Two of them slowly creep back into the water and the largest alligator hisses as they bump into him. He closes his jaw with a snap and swims back into the lake as well. She starts to shake again until he puts his leather jacket on her and leads her away.
I bring Sheryl to civilization. That’s her name. It took no convincing to let me put her little moped in the back seat of my car and drive her back. I may seem like a monster to some but I can be nice. Now sitting here and watching her eat her steak I realize that I am a nice guy. More people should realize that. Too many people are like her. They take things at face value only. You can look at my face but see that I am a fighter not a brute. You look at my record and see that I am resilient and not a loser. Watch my matches and… well you might get some impression there but I have good intentions. Hear my name and look for the deeper meaning and not the tropes.
I listen her tell me how she got there but my mind wanders away from her complaints about some rave and settle on my latest match. I got so close. I really wanted that one but Nova really is a Wonder. Sheryl kind of looks like her but softer somehow. She lacks that spark but still it makes me admire her for that reason. Maybe we’re all superficial at heart.
Take my next opponent. Shizuka is some Irish kid that comes through Japan. I hear he has studied with some of the best and takes after the Akuma of legend. They say that if you see one then you should avoid it and pretend that you didn’t. It is extremely bad luck. Well this kid is going to get a big welcome since I’m not a sucker for mythology. I like to experience things first hand before making my judgement. I’ll welcome this demon with open arms and squeeze until I find his breaking point. I came so close to victory the last time that I kind of want it again. I’m a Zombie though so I’ll make it sporting. He’ll get his chance to impress me and the entirety of PAW in this, his debut match. Then I’ll try to impress him. I’ll try to get below the surface and really get to know him. I’m don’t like being superficial. That’s why I really try to get to know my opponents and what makes them tick. I hope Shizuka lets me in and I can show him how a Zombie can fight a Demon. I am reborn into something greater after each match. I am a Zombie in name and in psyche… Undead.
I realize Sheryl is looking at me expectantly so I just nod and laugh. I just agreed to something and I don’t know what. Well I got a good day of shooting fish in and my brain is swishing in some sauce. The night is young and tomorrow is full of promises. She puts my jacket on and I pay. I follow her this time as someone more familiar.
