Location: Boston,MA Date: 9/23/16 Time: 4:00 P.M. The air was rather crisp compared to what it had been the past few weeks. Autumn had finally arrived, looking to relieve the earth from the rather near unbearable summer. The humidity had been broken down over the past few weeks, actually allowing for some breathing room for those looking to walk around the city. However, it mattered very little to one such individual. That individual would be no other than the man himself: Hunter Storms. Whilst he did appear to be at peace, there was something more off set about him, almost as if he had gone through a metamorphosis. The look in his eyes at the last Addiction had seemed more sadistic than what he looked like in the weeks prior. Before the first Addiction, he appeared to be the normal, bone cold man he had been ever since he first stepped into the company. He couldn't have given a rat's ass if he injured someone, and that point was certainly proven when he wiped out Jack Nomad and Calvin Harris with that steel chair of his.
Vesting himself up for the day, he adorned a rather jet black hoodie, this one even appearing much more darker than the last one he had wore at his meeting with Dr. Lockhart, otherwise known as the man who had helped him guide him onto the path of accepting his status as a loner, however, one almost couldn't tell if Storms had actually put his right foot forward because on that night in Purity, something dark seemed to be left in the wake of each step. He seemed much more brutal and more cold, almost as if his soul had been sold off to the devil for nothing in return, but he certainly carried the “I don't care” look pretty damn well.
The day had been mostly quiet with the autumn breezes blowing through. It had been late afternoon, and most people were looking to return home from work, but it gave Storms a chance to process everything that had happened in the past few weeks. The choices he made......were they the right ones? What repercussions await him in the future? Had his employer been found out after Wicked? To him, they matter very little for the time being. Questions that could be answered at a later time, but he would be wasting energy just trying to formulate answers for each question. Following the same the route from last time,he quietly stepped into the psychologist building, breezing past the receptionist desk and bounding straight towards Lockhart's office door. Readjusting his hoodie,he audibly knocks on the mahogany door.
“Come in!”
Hunter's lips slightly curl into a smirk as he pushes down on the metal handle, opening up to the same office he was in just two weeks prior. Everything just about appeared to be same.....well except for the desk. It appeared much more organized from the last time he was here, but then again Lockhart had only just come back from a mid morning meeting so he really couldn't blame him for being so disorganized on that day. Looking towards Lockhart,he noticed that the middle aged man was in the middle of what seemed like a rather serious phone call. Shrugging at the scene,he walked over to the mattress and sat himself upon it,focusing his gaze onto the ground in wait of Lockhart.
“Why are you shocked that Leo is planning to leave? He's only an assistant! Why is this such a huge matter?” he sighs, “Look,Alexandra,I get he's been with the company for a better part of the last eight months, but last I checked, his performance was beginning to wilt. Something tells me that boy has lost some sense in this field.”
Inaudible replies feed through the phone as Lockhart pinches the bridge of his nose, exhaling another sigh as he reclined back in his seat.
“Look,I'm not the one making the decisions in the company. I sit in the middle of the power hierarchy,so deciding whether or not to let people go isn't my case. Take it up with Lawrence or Benoit if this is really irritating you. And for the last time would you please be up to task more?! You're behind your work by more than two weeks! Start shaping up before I have to lecture for the tenth time!”
He slammed the phone down on the stand, alerting Storms, who happened to perk his head up at the exact moment the conversation ended. Jamison looked as if he had been through enough troubles to deal with, but it didn't stop him from pushing on with his last appointment. Pushing back up to a regular sitting position,he pulled up the same sheet of notes from last time as he looked toward Storms.
“So,lad, how have these past two weeks been for ya?”
An almost cynical laugh can faintly be heard through his lips as he adjusts his sitting position to respond.
“Well,things have been........to say the least,interesting......”
“Interesting how?”
“Well for once,I was actually kept pretty busy during the show. I got involved in two matches.”
“Amazing, you were willing to help fill the card?”
“I wouldn't say fill,I would probably say that I added some extra oomf into the second match.”
“What do you mean?”
A near sadistic smile suddenly lights up on Hunter's face.
“Heh.......one could say that I gave out two free hospital trips....”
Lockhart blankly stares at Storms, his pen still resting against his clipboard as he tries to process everything just said. Storms can still be heard laughing to himself as Lockhart deeply inhales.
“Y-Y-Yo-You sent two people.........to the hospital......out of what or for what cause? If you did this out of your doing,then......that is quite an interesting display, but very brutal at the same time. Why'd you do it?”
“I got paid to do the hit. Not by the powers that be,but by someone else in the company who needed help in eliminating one of those competitors. He didn't want to seem them walk away from that match so easily.”
“I see......at least there's a reason behind it,but I still can't believe you would do something so barbaric. Just because someone paid you to injure those two souls?”
He shrugs at the question, leaning back on the mattress, folding his hands against his stomach. Lockhart frantically looks around his office,as if stalling in order to find a way to keep the ball the rolling.
“Alright....Hunter,I want to try a certain exercise with you,but it involves hypnosis if that's okay with you. It's just a simple mental exercise that I have done with other patients in the past.”
“Alright,as long as it doesn't knock me out entirely I'm fine with it.”
“Trust me,it won't. It'll just put you into some sort of sleep mode.”
Pulling out a small pocket watch,he dangles it front of Storms cold stare.
“I'm sure you know how the drill works.”
“Who doesn't?”
Swinging the watch in front of him,Storms could feel himself gradually become drowsy from watching the pocket watch. Without warning, his head suddenly drooped down, sending him into the entranced slumber.
Location: Unknown Date: 9/23/16 Time: 4:10 P.M. “What the.....where the hell am I?”
He noticed that he was lying face down looking at his reflection. Pushing himself up,he looked around to get his bearings, but saw nothing but tons of open space around him.
“Hello?”
No answer. The wind suddenly shifted direction and was being blown in his direction at a rather intense velocity. Bracing himself against it,he dug his feet in to prevent himself from toppling over like an old tower. In front of him, a black mist started to swirl in front of him as the wind shear intensified. Burn marks slowly appeared on his forearms as the mist continued to form in front of him, until it appeared humanoid in an almost solid black color. The moment the humanoid's feet touched the ground, the wind suddenly stopped. Lowering his arms from his face,he stared right back at the humanoid mist, which beared a close resemblance of himself. The figure moved closer to him, until there was about five feet of space between them.
“So,yet another has failed to go down the correct path...”
“Who are you?”
“A being only visible to you,and you only.”
“Your name?”
“That I cannot say,but for now refer to me as Z.”
“Why Z?”
“Because I am the last thing keeping your mentality in check.”
The words pierced right through him, almost like a gun shot,as he dropped to a knee, realizing the meaning behind those words.
“Are you saying I've gone mad?”
“Not mad,but rather you have put your left foot forward, rather than your right. Currently you going down a path you have gone down before, but this time you're going into the darker reaches of it. Greed has led you down this path this time. Money caught your attention and you took the chance, gaining yourself quite a bit of notoriety in the making.”
“Wait,so you----”
“Yes Hunter,I know what happened.”
“Right......”
“Perhaps it would be best if we talked about this later. Right now I can tell your mind is set on that title match of yours against the woman who calls herself Annabel Lee.”
“Yeah.....”
“Hmmm, try not to get yourself seriously hurt while wrestling, okay?”
“Uh.....yeah......yeah.....”
As soon as those last few words escaped his lips,a flash of light blurred everything out until he found himself waking up back in Dr. Lockhart's office. The experience he had just gone through was indescribable, and all he could think of now was that being,Z.
“So,lad,feel any different?”
“How long was I out for?”
“About no more than ten minutes. Why? Something strange happen?”
“More than strange.....it was almost supernatural.”
“Interesting......very interesting. Well,I'd love to stay and chat about it with ya,but everyone's just about wrapping up before closing. So next session, you'll definitely have to tell me about this one.”
“I'll try....”
Without saying anything else,he hastily stood up from the mattress and walked out of the office, not looking back.
Location: Purity,LA Date: 9/26/16 Time: 11:50 P.M. The night was rather light up beautifully. The stars were shining like diamonds and they almost seemed to fill up the entire skyline. Zooming out of the shot,Storms comes into the frame, staring up at the night sky, almost entranced by it. Whipping his head towards the camera,he instinctively twists his entire body around to face, and address the camera.
“It's been awhile since the sky was lit up like this. I have to say,it is quite beautiful. Can't even the recall the last time I've seen something so magnificent. Magnificent......now there's a word. It can describe so many things. The sky,a piece of jewelry,a work of art, hell, even a title belt.”
His lips curl up into a rather cocky smirk.
“A title belt. One of the best damn things you can acquire in this business. Just this nice piece of gold that fits so nicely around your waist,or you can drape it over your shoulder to really show people who's one of the top dogs in the business. Man....I remember when I had my fair share of those. Just walking in,fresh off the victory all like “Oh my god,oh my god! I can't believe I won it!” All that jazz. Who knows,I might even experience that again come Thursday.”
He devilishly looks straight into the camera.
“I'm about 99% sure everyone knows who I'm talking about, right? Miss Annabel Lee. PAW's first ever Crank Champion after beating three other competitors, including her best friend,to claim that beautiful golden strap. I have to say Annabel, that was certainly one hell of a performance. In fact,it just adds another similarity between the two us. Your dad was a professional wrestler, and my dad was a professional wrestler. You won the prize in that fatal four way match at the first Addiction, meanwhile I won a prize in my match this past Addiction, but you see, this Thursday will drive a wedge between those similarities. The difference between us this week will be seeing who walks out of there, the Crank Champion. I mean it could be you,the fans love you,you got a bestie always rooting for you in your corner and then there's me over here in the corner with just about nothing.”
He shrugs at his own remark.
“For all I know, you have the popularity vote in your favor and the amount of will you have definitely sets you apart from the rest of the pack here in PAW. However, the real question is,how far will that carry you? One can not simply thrive on popularity alone. You gotta show these people that you have a strong work ethic, that you are willing to go the distance in matches and show them that you will not die.”
He clasps his hands together in front of his chest.
“To be honest, you really haven't worked hard at all to get this far. It almost seems like as if it was handed down to you on a silver platter. You had Kelsey do all that work in the tag match at Bad Moon Rising just to qualify for the fatal four way. Then you stole the entire show by becoming the inaugural Crank Champion after last eliminating your best friend. It's a sad tale in itself really, you did so little to come so far and your naivety really shows that. You almost seem like your an astronaut lost in space, not really knowing where they're headed. Well,I can easily tell you where you are headed sweetheart...”
A deep laugh bellows from Storms.
“Where you're headed? The Dethroned City. You may have had a lucky defense against Hayden, but I'm not so gullible like her. I've been in this ring for more than half a decade, and you know what I've down in those five years? Dethrone idiots, like you, from seats that you don't belong in. In this case, the throne of the Crank Championship. You may be enjoying it now,but it times for the curtain call Annabel. Say your prayers and kiss the title good bye because come Addiction,it'll be the last time you ever see that belt in your hands.”
Fade to black.
