“ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW” CHAPTER 001
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • The match had come to an end and McKenzie found himself walking up the ramp with his back turned to the ring. He could hear the crowd response. There were some pretty loud boos being thrown in his direction. Some fans were even as going a little farther than others by hurling insults at him. To which the Virus himself ignored every last bit of it. Not once did he turn to look back at them. Not once did he acknowledge them. Instead McKenzie continued up that ramp until he reached the top of the stage. He grabbed a hold of the black curtain peeled it back and made his way through the gorilla position. His feet no sooner than came down from the small set of steps leading to the backstage area and he began to undo the tape that covered his wrist. The goal had been accomplished as far as he was concerned. He had gone out, he had had his debut match, and he had won in convincing fashion. There was nothing else for him to do aside from getting to the locker room, get out of his gear, and head to the airport. No way in hell would he be staying here any longer than what was needed. Getting one of the wrists cleared of tape and then putting his focus to the other wrist. It had kept his attention so intentionally he didn’t see who had approached him.
Turns out the person approaching him was a gentleman by the name of Brad Ingles. For those that weren’t aware he exclusively worked with Pure Amusement Wrestling as a backstage correspondent. That would explain the microphone in his hand and the suit that he was wearing. He had noticed that McKenzie hadn’t seen him. That much was confirmed when McKenzie just walked right on past him finish tearing off the tape that was on his wrist. Now considering he had approached the Virus in the first place. There had to be a reason for it and that reason was about to be known as he started to follow behind McKenzie. At the same clearing his throat and then speaking up in hopes of gaining the attention of the one they called the Virus.“Excuse me, Mr. McKenzie?”His voice had been loud enough that it would have caught someone’s attention. Yet for some reason McKenzie had just kept walking. That kind of should have said everything that it needed to say. Course it must not have clicked in the mind of Brad because he decided to go ahead and pursue the situation. He quickly managed to catch up to McKenzie. Not only did he catch up but he managed to move in front of him hoping that it would slow the Virus down. At the same exact time he spoke a little louder seeing to it that he did catch the attention of the man before him. “Excuse me, Mr. McKenzie... Do you have a moment?!”At that point Brad got what he wanted. He got McKenzie’s attention but the look in his eyes when he looked up to place them on Brad should have sent the man running for the hills. The Virus was seething over being spoken to. By no means did he look the least bit happy. Stopping in his tracks right there in the middle of the hallway. The only thing that was standing between McKenzie and his way to the airport was this nuisance in front of him. For that very reason it was already decided in the mind of the so called Virus that this was not going to turn out very pleasant for the man who had interrupted him.“What the hell do you want?”“Sorry to have interrupted you. My name is Brad Ing...”“I didn’t ask what the hell your name was. I asked what the hell you wanted!”The amount of anger that came out of McKenzie at that very second resulted in Brad taking a step back. Rightfully and smartly so considering he nor anyone else truly knew what McKenzie was capable of. Other than what they had just saw out in the ring moments ago. In response he stuttered trying to regain his composure.“I was just wanting a moment of your time. A small interview for the company website.”McKenzie’s eyes started to narrow a little more. Further driving home this point that being interrupted was not something that he was fond of. “Let me ask you something.”“Uh... sure. What’s that Mr. McKenzie?”“Do I look like the type of person that likes to be bothered? Do I look like the type of person that is just fine with being interrupted? Do I look like the type of person that just wants to give interviews for any reason at all?”“Well...”“I highly suggest you think and answer wisely.”That seemingly stopped Brad in his tracks from answering. Granted from the look in McKenzie’s eyes and the way that he was carrying himself it was obvious what the answer was. Brad remained at his dance and seemed to avoid eye contact with McKenzie.“No. The answer is no.”“Then why would you even think to bother me?”“The thing is no one knows anything about you and they figure a few moments of your time would be enough to fill those in.”“Did you see what happened out there during my match?”“Yes, yes I did.”“And that means everyone else in the back saw what happened correct?”“I would assume so... yes.”“Then allow me to only say this once. What you and everyone else saw in that ring tonight is all you or anyone else needs to know at any given time!”His tone of voice got a little more commanding as he took a couple of steps forward. Brad didn’t have the time to react before he found himself looking up at McKenzie who was not only right up in his space but towering over him. That cold look in his eyes still very much there.“Don’t ever approach me again. Don’t ever ask me for an interview again. Don’t even so much as ever speak to me again. That will be your only warning. You go against that and I promise you. You’ll be eating through a feeding tube for the rest of your life!”McKenzie took his large hand and pressed it against the chest of Brad. In just the slightest motion McKenzie had pushed the man out of way. The force wasn't that hard or at least it didn't look that hard but it did manage to push Brad back against the concrete wall in the hallway. The Virus had done made his way past Brad heading down the hall. The man leaned up against the wall feeling his heart beating so hard it felt like it would pop out of his chest at any given moment. He watched as McKenzie walked away and sure enough those "final words" so to speak were looming through his head. Certainly he would chalk this up as a lesson learned.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
“ON TO THE NEXT” CHAPTER 002
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • In this particular moment cameras found themselves rolling and fading in to find their focus on what appeared to be a pair of tattooed shoulder blades. The amount of details that had gone into those tattoos popped out to the lens of the camera. The zoom button was clearly starting to be held down by the person working the cameras as the shoulder blades was not the focus anymore. Slowly but surely the long and completely tattooed arms of this person before the camera became visible to. The insane amount of details on the tattoos on those arms seemed to pop out a little more than the ones on the shoulders. Course the camera zoom continued to go outward until the back of the head of this person was revealed. Whomever the person was had been fond of shaving their head to a buzzcut and from the built it was quite obvious that this person took care of themselves. Every muscle seen on his shoulders, back, and arms had true form and definition to them. All of the sudden the person turned themselves around to reveal their identity. Anyone that might of had some suspensions on who it could be depending on what that suspension was might have been right. For the person standing there was “The Virus” himself. Also known as Chris McKenzie.
There was such a look in McKenzie’s eyes that always gave the impression that he was cold and as heartless as they came. Not in the short amount of time that the Pure Amusement Wrestling audience has dealt with the man did they ever feel like there was any emotion ever shown in those eyes. They remained piercing and narrowed while looking right into the lens of the camera. The look alone was enough to make hair on the back of people's neck stand up on edge. Some would say out of fear. Others would say out of such an intoxicating look. Either way you put it the look was still enough to command and demand your attention. At that moment the man's lips parted and he began to address the cameras before him.“For a few weeks now I had been promising that a virus was going to be leaked into the atmosphere of Pure Amusement Wrestling. A virus that was deadly and a virus that had no cure.”His words seemed to match that look in his eyes. They were just as cold and they were just as emotionless.“Yet for some odd reason not too many people took what I had to say very seriously. There were a few people that got concerned with the warning videos. There were a few people that had flashbacks to a time where they had dealt with that virus taking over one of their beloved companies in the past. However that was simply a small percentage of people. Everyone else seemed to ignore it. Everyone else seemed to be unphased by it. Everyone else seemed to have thought that it wasn’t a situation where fear was needed. Then two weeks ago when I stepped into the a Pure Amusement Wrestling ring for the very first time and gave you people a sample of what the Virus was capable of. That’s when the fear truly began to set in.”Not like his words were that far off by any means. His existence in the company was starting to create some buzz and it did have a certain amount of fear to it from some of the fans. Fear that he seemingly was thriving off of and fear that he apparently wanted to strike into people from the start.“Going into that match with Roscar. I knew that most people didn’t expect anything out of me. Even walking down that ramp before the match started. I could see it on the faces of several people in the arena that night. They didn’t expect a lot out of me. They didn’t seem to care that I was there and they certainly didn’t expect me to hold my own against Roscar, but those people found themselves turning out to be very wrong in a matter of seconds. I stood before a supposed Greek God and I punched him right in the face. Though that wasn’t all that happened on that night. Numerous times Roscar got knocked down. Numerous times my violent nature came out. Numerous times it was shown that I was going to be one of the most dangerous forces that this company has ever seen. Then to toy with your mind's even more. To toy with Roscar’s mind. I put myself in what many of you would have considered a vulnerable position. I let you and Roscar believe for a split second that he had a chance. To which you call bought it. That only proved that nothing has changed in my time away from wrestling. You people are still very much sheep, which is why the fear truly set in when you saw me choke Roscar out to the point he had to tap when it was believed he had it won.”That smirk on McKenzie’s face seemed to grow just a little bit more when it came to speaking about what had happened in her debut match. Granted there was going to be that one person that would say McKenzie’s words were false. Yet there was a good chance that one person wouldn’t say it to his face.“Choking him out and forcing him to have no other choice but to tap out in the center of that ring was not just my way of picking up where I had left off last year. It was not my way of coming into Pure Amusement Strong by picking up a victory. Instead that was my way of truly releasing the deadly virus into the atmosphere. All it took was for one person to be infected and in due time it was going to spread like wildfire throughout the entire company. You people got to see that one person be infected before your very eyes which played a big role in that fear that you’re now experiencing. Yet like I warned you in the beginning. Once the virus began to spread there was no running from it. There is nothing that can be done now. In fact all you can do is sit by and wait to see who the next victim is. Sit by and wait to see who the next person is to be infected.”Simply using words like that was enough to make the fear that people had started to increase a little more. In that moment McKenzie started to shake his head a little bit. Almost like something was disappointing to him.“But then again fear makes people do the craziest things. In particular fear makes the coward in people to come out in full effect. From what I’ve established the entire company has proven they are a coward. Reason I say that is they didn’t bother to put me in a match that was worth a damn. All because they fear me having anymore steam. They didn’t put me in a match with one of their stars. All because they fear one of them being choked out or dropped on their head but more importantly because they fear that star will be proven to be worth nothing. They didn’t even put me against any of these so called newcomers. All because they have fear that I’d end them before their careers could even get started in this company. Instead the company has decided to put me in a match against someone who hasn’t been seen since Bad Moon Rising. An event that happened back in August.”The expression on his face at that moment said it all. He was far from impressed with the situation that he was going to be coming into in a few days from now.“They have gone and put me in a match with a man by the name of Nirvana. That’s right they have placed me against some old pedophile in a mask that has supposedly been around for over twenty years. I guess that’s something that is going to be expected of me to “sell” or to “put over” and they can kiss my ass because that’s not going to happen. Especially when the people in charge can’t even guarantee if the man is going to show up. They can’t even guarantee if I’m actually going to have a match. Why would I talk someone up that isn’t that special to begin with, but more importantly why would I talk someone up or make it seem like someone is a threat to me when this entire match is done out of fear and as a way to attempt to slow down the viral infection that I want to release throughout this entire company?”Continuing to shake his head in disappointment.“Little do they realize that their efforts are going to end up failing them. Like I’ve said before, there isn’t a cure. There isn’t a way to stop this virus. There’s no way to even slow it down. In fact showing what type of coward you are and trying to stop me from progressing. Trying to prevent me from my goal. Trying to stop me from accomplishing my mission. That is going to do nothing, but anger me. It’s going to do nothing but piss me off and send me over the edge. And if you thought just choking out Roscar was bad. Then you’ve truly got no idea what I am capable of. See I am not like most of the people you have on your roster. I won’t claim to be a monster and then make backhanded comments in a subtweet on twitter. I won’t claim to be one of the best then start whining and crying when things don’t go my way. I won’t be a little bitch threaten to sue the company for holding me down. Instead I’ll just hurt someone and I’ll keep hurting someone. To either A. I get what I want or B. There’s no one left to hurt. Just a little bit of advice and those that are in charge. I’d be taking that advice... or don’t, but at least you now know what the consequences will be.”Far too many people have threatened people in charge. It’s been something that has been done over and over again in the world of professional wrestling. It seemed like the “cool” thing to do. Or the one thing that seemed to give people an “edge” over everyone else. Yet at this particular moment. It was known that McKenzie wasn’t threatening anyone. Instead it was a promise. This wasn’t done to look “cool” or to have an “edge” by any means. It was done in a matter of letting it be known there was a very good reason to fear him.“That’s neither here nor there though. I expected fear and I expected people to show their side. I expected for cowards to come out into the light, but let me just go ahead and entertain the idea if Nirvana does show up. I’ll entertain the idea that if he actually does decide to get in the ring with me come Addiction. I’ll entertain the idea of what happens if there is an actual match come this Thursday. Then if that’s truly the case. All I can for me is it’ll be onto the next. Nirvana might step into the ring with me, but it isn’t going to take very long until he suffers the same fate as Roscar suffers. Only thing that’ll be different this time out is that I’m not going to be coming to play games. I’m not going to bite and make it seem like someone’s got a chance. Instead I am coming with cruel intentions and there’s a very good chance people are going to see me snap Nirvana’s neck like the twig it is.”Those words forced the cameras to briefly zoom in on those cold eyes of his. Once again that look was enough to strike fear into anyone that would lay their own eyes on top of his.“But then again it doesn’t matter if Nirvana has the balls to show up or not. I’ll be at Addiction and one way or another. I’m going to make an impact. Someone is going to get hurt and the virus will continue to spread.”Not another word to follow McKenzie simply turned his back to the cameras before starting to walk away. Each step that he made he got further and further away from the cameras. Until he had seemingly disappeared into the darkness of the scenery which was the cue for the cameras to cut out and the scene faded. Those words left people with not only uncertainty, but it also left them with the overall feeling that something bad was going to happen on Addiction. Bad enough that a career could be ended and bad enough that this supposed virus was going to be taking it’s next victim.
