EXCLUSIVE: An Interview With The Martyr
Fading in at that moment due to the cameras getting rolling and there was a gentleman wearing a rather sharp suit sitting in a chair. His attention was right on the recording cameras. As a matter of fact the way he looked into the lens of the camera made it feel like he was looking right at one of the viewers. By no means did our audience have a single clue to who this man was. He has never been seen before, but due to wasting no time at all that man began to speak.
NEAL LAMON: Ladies and gentlemen my name is Neal Lamon. You do not know who I am but I am a close and personal friend of Calvin’s. To be more exact I happen to be Calvin’s attorney. I have been his legal counsel for several years now. Today, he has decided to break his silence on situation regarding Pure Amusement Wrestling and he has appointed me to oversee things. So without further ado allow me to introduce the man himself...
In the chair he was sitting in he managed to spin himself around. At the same exact time the cameras zoomed out a little bit to reveal that “The Martyr” Calvin Harris had been sitting there all along in a chair of his own. He pushed the hair out of his face and those dark eyes of his locked on the man that was seated in front of him.
NEAL LAMON: Calvin, pleasure seeing you once again.
CALVIN HARRIS: You see me more than you’d like sometimes I am sure, but you’re the man for the job.
NEAL LAMON: Well I appreciate the kind words, but this isn’t about me. This is about you and your situation with your current employer Pure Amusement Wrestling.
CALVIN HARRIS: If that’s what you want to call them. Yet to me the word employer gives them more credit than they're worth honestly.
NEAL LAMON: What does that mean?
CALVIN HARRIS: Well for starters employer means that I get paid for doing a job, but I haven’t been paid in close to a month now. Granted don’t get me wrong I’m not hurting for money. I’ve always been very smart with my money. But the point is I can’t get paid because I can’t do my job and I can’t do my job because I was unfairly suspended!
There was such emotion in Calvin’s voice when he made those comments.
NEAL LAMEN: Unfairly suspended? Well the story that they give and their grounds for suspending you has everything to do with you going against medical orders. You were not cleared to compete or get physical in anyway, but you took matters into your own hands and did it anyway.
CALVIN HARRIS: Again, I was unfairly suspended. Because their grounds for suspending me is complete and utter bullshit. You see I can name a time where Press and Stevie Harris had one of the most vicious feuds seen early on in the company. Blood was shed. Their bodies took extreme and rather brutal punishment. Yet what happened? The very next show they were booked in matches. They very next show they were allowed to compete. Or how about when Raike and I competed in a ladder match when I dropped him on his neck and nearly broke it.
Yet he was allowed to compete the very next show. Just like he was allowed to compete the very next show when we had a three stages of hell where I went a step further and came within an ending his career. Why are people like Press and Raike allowed to put their bodies on the line or find themselves in a situation where someone beats the hell out of them and they can be allowed to compete the very next show? But I’m not? Is it a matter of they’ve been there longer?
Is it a matter of making them look really strong? And on top of that it was reported that I was hurt. It was reported that I suffered some type of concussion. First of all a bitch like Hunter Storms isn’t powerful enough to give me any type of injury or a concussion for that matter. And secondly how do they know I wasn’t able to compete? How do they know I truly had a concussion? They never ran any tests on me. I never went through any type of impact testing. Not once was any measure taken to truly prove that I was in a position where I couldn’t compete. Instead it seems like they suspended me because I went after Press.
NEAL LAMEN: Sounds like you’re implying that things are a little biased or maybe a little crooked.
CALVIN HARRIS: That’s exactly why I am implying. Like I said so many people before me have been in worst situations and they are allowed to compete. On top of that I have felt like the company has been against me for the last two months or so. There’s just been this shift that’s in the atmosphere. I can’t really explain it, but I can say that I don’t have the passion to be part of the company like I once did. I remember when I left the last company I worked for because of the shady shit that went down. People in PAW promised things wouldn’t be like that. I’d never have to worry about being screwed over, backstabbed, held down, or anything like that... but here we are and I can say it feels exactly like that.
NEAL LAMEN: It's a shame that you feel that way. I know what you went through leaving your previous employer. You came that close to suing the company for everything it was worth. Which between us wasn't very much to begin with. Once again that is not the focus. You should feel wanted by a company that you've been giving your all too and you don't feel that way at all. Has there been any contact with you and the company since your suspension?
CALVIN HARRIS: Zero.
He shook his head from side to side. The look in Calvin's eyes continued to paint the picture with how he felt about everything that he was going through at this very moment.
CALVIN HARRIS: You see the problem with the company is there are too many hands in the pot so to speak.
NEAL LAMEN: Too many hands in the pot?
CALVIN HARRIS: That's exactly what I said. There's just too many people thinking they've got power or they've got say to the company. Because they do certain things. Whether you're the lawyer for the company or you give input on something or you're overseeing a network. Whatever the case may be. Too many people think they can say and do whatever they want with the company. When in reality it is just Lady Munin who is in charge. Truth be told I've said my fair share of nasty things about her in the past. I won't shy away from that and a lot of that comes from the fact she doesn't stand up, grow a set of balls, and take control of her company. She's the one that owns it. Then she needs to do something about the stupid shit that goes on. You'd figure she'd be wanting to keep a star like me and trying to do what's right by me. I'm not saying kiss my ass, but damn sure make sure I don't take my talents elsewhere.
NEAL LAMEN: Oooh that's interesting. Are you considering taking your talents elsewhere?
CALVIN HARRIS: I sure have. I've even been in talks with a couple different promotions. Not to mention you and I have reviewed my contract with PAW. We're seeing if there's any loop hole that I have to get me out of my contract if I see to it this is the move I want to make. And honestly as unfair as this suspension was. I didn't want to go anywhere else until I tried to appeal my suspension. I presented my case and then no one got back to me. I didn't get a call, I didn't get an email, I didn't get a text message or even a fucking tweet. It simply came down to they had decided to keep me out of the ring, that's all there was to it, and they'd ignore everything I said or did until they let me come back. When they gave me the middle finger, that's when I decided it might be time to go elsewhere.
NEAL LAMEN: But everyone knows that your suspension is going to come to an end at 7 Deadly Sins. In fact people are expecting you to be in the ring that night in someway shape or form. Is there any chance you're going to be there that night?
CALVIN HARRIS: If I'm not competing for the PAW Heavyweight Championship? The thing that I deserve more than anyone else that's been added to this bullshit ladder match. Then I won't be there. I won't be at 7 Deadly Sins and I likely won't be at any other Pure Amusement Wrestling program going forward either. I've reached the end of my rope and either something is going to give or I'm out. It's as simple as that.
Following those words coming from his mouth. The live feed proceeded to cut itself off and the cameras faded to black. It had been debated on when the Pure Amusement Wrestling Universe was going to hear from the Martyr again. Many were assuming that it wouldn't be until the night of 7 Deadly Sins but now there was a good chance that he wasn't even going to be seen that night or any other night for that matter. In retrospect this might have been the very last time Calvin Harris was heard from or seen. Simply put sometimes people get pushed to their boiling points and when they finally boil over the edge there is no going back. Honestly seems like that might be the case of The Martyr.
