With the sudden appearance of Stevie Harris at the end of Friday Night's WICKED Live, Episode #4, the U.S. Marshall's office has suspended Pure Amusement Wrestling shows indefinitely. Todd Reid met with officials today to hash out exactly what that means, along with CTN Correspondent Kevin O'Neil. CEO and Owner of PAW, Lady Munin was not available for comment, but this statement was released after those meetings.
As of right now Pure Amusement Wrestling is closed, and all of its Superstars are released from their contracts, though they are under subpoena for questioning about the Stevie Harris fiasco. That a known fugitive could masquerade as the masked wrestler, Deus, without PAW's knowledge is inconceivable to the U.S. Marshall Service, and they have assured the state of Louisiana, where Stevie was tried and serving his sentence, that justice will be served.
Furthermore, because of this new indictment, the Amusement Park itself is in jeopardy, being considered an asset of the promotion, rather than the other way around. It is a sad day for the citizens of Purity, as this was one of their main sources of income in the community. Though there are some that will be glad to see it go, there are others that will feel the loss deeply.
The Circle Television Network brought their own host of lawyers to the meeting, and along with Kevin O'Neil denied having any involvement, citing that their relationship with Pure Amusement Wrestling was a new one, and they were only four shows into the year long contract, having no prior experiences with Stevie Harris. Apparently after a few hours of deliberation, the New York based lawyers were able to absolve CTN from any of the blame, which in turn allowed them to dissolve their contract with PAW in front of a judge on the same day. It is said that CTN is considering suing PAW for monetary losses based on projected sales figures of the brands success before the fiasco.
As it were, there is nothing more to be learned at this time by this reporter, as I am now barred from my office. I'm doing this from my laptop, as I believe the fans have a right to know that their beloved brand is no more. I for one, would like to thank all of you for your participation and your die hard support of our promotion through it's ups and downs. This is a sad day, but not the end, as I am sure that many of our Superstars will be able to use this as a skyrocket towards another promotion. I hope to see all of you again at some point, but until then, good look and goodnight.
(There will be an OOC post later on with a few explanations as to why this is happening.)
