I said I would do this yesterday, but to be honest it was a little too much. Perhaps to make an official post now will be redundant, but there is only so much you can put into a Twitter post. Especially when there is so much you want to say.
Of course now that I have the word count to say it...I’m struggling to find out where to begin.
PAW was opened on a dream. A dream to create not only a fed for people to write in, but an interactive world for them to play in. A place where transparency was of the utmost importance, and where everyone's voice mattered. We wanted people to feel the freedom to come to us with any idea, and then talk with us to decide how to implement it. No matter how crazy or far fetched it may have sounded at the time. Collaboration was at the heart of it all. We wanted not only a healthy community for are fed, but to work with other feds to make something special. I like to think that we accomplished a lot of those goals.
Pure Amusement was a land of stories, and we at the heart wanted nothing more than to let people tell their stories and have fun. With as little drama and politics as possible. It wasn't perfect, but it was ours. As sappy and sentimental as it sounds I know that personally a part of me will always cherish the time I spent on this labor of love.
We were truly blessed with the handlers that called PAW home. These people are truly remarkable both in and out of character. To watch them grow as writers and to enjoy their time here was not only a pleasure but an honor. Any fed that has them in the future will be blessed.
I want to apologize to those handlers and to those that followed and supported us. Let me assure that it is no one's fault that we are closing. This decision was not easy and we went back and forth over it a number of times, but at the end of the day we knew that if we continued under our current circumstances in the real world that PAW would not be PAW anymore. Not in the long run. We simply have so little of ourselves to give at the moment, and we refuse to lower our standards or quality. If we can't give you are best. If we can't give you even a decent percentage of our all, then we can not bring ourselves to continue.
So we have closed on our own terms while we are still on top of our game. We would like to thank everyone for joining us on this crazy ride, and we hope you will look back on it fondly.
We may have other projects In the future, but for now in the words of Cowboy Bebop
